Also as tIme4coffee said--WEIGH EVERYTHING. Accuracy does wonders.

Your calorie target is based on what you reported as your activity level. It is an approximation that will work for most people. If you have technology to measure your actual activity level you can set it up to report to MFP and that will help you narrow down your calorie target window.

Wow you look like a clothing model now!

HOLY COOKIES!!! THIS IS SO AWESOME!!!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! I'm the same height but my lifetime high was 264 lbs, now down to 212 lbs, and I'm in my 50's. Trying to not obsess too much to keep my program sustainable, so its about 42 lbs in a year. Also I don't want to lose weight too quickly at my age because I worry about…

Congrats!

To clarify--you basically lost 10% of your body weight in a month. That is really fast and probably not a safe rate of loss to sustain long-term. So consider your goals and expectations with that in mind. The rule of thumb for people with a lower starting weight than you is aim for less than 2.5 lbs per week. For people of…

At your weight it's good to get a quick start. In general the first 2 weeks you get a big drop and then slower loss in subsequent weeks. I am a bit concerned you may be losing faster than is safe. Please consider getting medical supervision as you work on this to make sure you stay within safe nutritional guidelines.…

Steel-cut oatmeal made with whole milk, honey, and cardamom, with a side of cantaloupe, for breakfast. (about 540 cals)

congrats and I have BMI envy.

Pullover knit merino jersey long-sleeve top from Costco bought for working out or yard work in cool weather always looked like a sausage casing so rarely worn. Put it on today to wear in the house because of a cool morning; now it fits well enough to wear around.

213 lbs today. Want to be 210 or less by the end of next month (mfp settings are for half a pound a week).

Had to switch to a shorter belt yesterday.

Holy moly on the fit and fabulous retirees. Your 71 y o personal trainer looks 60! And you could be mistaken for 40 if the purple covered the greys in the perimeter. I guess fitness will do that for a person--roll back the clock!

OMG, too much heavy lifting will turn you into Betty Page! Who knew.../s

I have been struggling to walk 4 miles on a local hill (still recovering from a variety of medical things so this itself is remarkable). While having car serviced yesterday, had to wait 3 hours, walked 7 miles on the flat !

56 yrs 217 lbs 5'8" no kids distant (college) history sprint length triathlons (weight then 135). Started at about 265 lbs (gained after various health issues prevented exercise and messed up metabolism). Short term goal is 195 lbs by January 15 2021. Tentative long term goal is 160 lbs (time indeterminate). However I plan…

your headache is more likely due to caffeine withdrawal. Consider adding tea or coffee to your allowed liquids on fast day to avoid this problem.

It's scale-goal, but for the past 3 days I've been below 220 lbs for the first time in about 5 years (I keep records), so my immediate goal is just not to slip up and bounce back up above 220 lbs. Ordinarily 4th of July family feasting would challenge that but I live alone and with the pandemic going on I'm planning to…

I worry a lot about the potential for loose skin (think of fat b*stard at the end of the Austin Powers movie series). You lost weight over several years, did you have any loose skin problems or did the slow approach avoid that issue in your case?

I have a relative who is 5'5" and about halfway on a similar voyage so I sent her your link here for inspiration.

Obesity is a risk factor for covid-19 complications. Fear of imminent death is a great motivator.

it depends on what percent of your weight that is. If you are losing pretty evenly over your whole body, it can be harder to notice the changes at first. If you pile up 16 lbs of butter it looks like a big pile, but then if you imagine all that butter smeared all over you it's not that thick a layer.

Covid virus deniers with sloppy personal hygiene will be among the first to die but will probably take a few other people with them by being disease vectors.

Wow! sustained effort paid off!

Not catching and dying from covid virus (I live in an affected county). So. Healthy nutrition.

Did you have issues with excess skin?
