  • Just a note to those using turkey sausage and chicken sausage. I read a research article recently that found that those often have a high level of skin and by-products that are higher calorie and fattier than the labels claim. Plus the though of eating the skin and who knows what by products was a total turn-off.

  • Scale Victory is that I've lost all but one pound of my "holiday weight gain." NSV: I'd never gotten around to unboxing the new electronic keyboard I got for Christmas. I haven't played keyboard in over 20 years. So, instead of spending the evening snacking, or fighting off snack urges, I played for a couple of hours,…
  • I'm proud today that I'm still logging in, still trying, though I actually have gained back a lot of weight that I had lost. So, proud that I am sticking with it. Had a healthy homemade shake today for breakfast and salmon thawing for dinner. And, plans for an hour of exercise. I'm proud that my head is still "in" success…
  • Good job. Enjoyed the video! What happened to the ankle/foot?
  • GREAT idea!!! I have chose to "walk" from Tallahassee, FL to Savannah, GA. That is 300 miles even. Yesterday I walked 3 miles. So, only 297 more miles to go!! At 3 miles a day, I should do this in 100 days, but will try to up my daily milage.
  • Martucha, have a "street vendor" hot dog ... I usually get them with chili and sauerkraut and am teased about trying to hit all food groups on a bun! They are delicious. I try not to think about the calories with those ... but worth it.
  • If you eat at Chipotle's keep in mind a Chicken Burrito has 1,092 calories and 2,300 mg of sodium. You could eat their Crispy steak tacos for 543 calories but that still has a boatload of sodium at 1,379 mg. At Taco Bell, internationally known Chef Lorena Garcia has a bunch of new menu items there listed under their…

  • Hi Giovanna and very good luck to you. I think you've taken a BIG step forward in really identifying the situation you are in, and identified why. Don't blame yourself entirely. That one line "I am broke" tells me some of why you may have gained: Fast food, cheaper foods are WAY, WAY more fattening than the healthier…
  • Oh, and for sure NO trip to NYC is complete without a visit to a Juniors Cheesecake. They are legendary and deservedly so. All kinds of cheesecake. If you like cheesecake you'll probably want to go back more than once. You'll find them at the Grand Central Train Station. This is also near where the shuttle buses go to/from…
  • I'm in NYC a lot, and also in Mexico a lot. Believe me, Chipotle isn't REMOTELY anything like Mexican food. No one mentions Taco Bell here ... it is the least expensive of the "fast food" options and REALLY tastes like what I find in Mexico. Also, there are MANY options that will work for someone dieting. You can have two…
  • Anyone who needs some encouragement, feel free to message me. I've been using this ap on my phone for about six months, and even though I've traveled a lot, business issues, looking for new job, possibly selling my house and relocating, I've managed to lose 22 pounds (though there have been ups and downs), though I still…
