Did you honestly miss the entire paragraph where I said: "I want to be clear that I am NOT claiming the Biggest Loser way to be healthy, or the "right/ideal" way to lose weight."
-
That simulator is amazing! That should be a stickie haha I'm a little upset at realizing how much longer its going to be though lol
-
Oh I get what youre saying now.
-
Not worried much about the carb/fat as long as protein is in?
-
Same here. I can squat 400 pounds but my bench press is struggling at 120 pounds haha. I feel pathetic.
-
I think he means a constant % of defecit. For example, 20% defecit of TDEE at all times.
-
Haha that was assumed. I should have mentioned that. My fault.

I had a bariatric doctor tell me a few years ago that obese people worry so much about muscle loss during weight loss and its absolutely ridiculous. He said that the active obese person has an excess of muscle, especially in their legs and quads due to carrying all the excess weight and losing some muscle is not a big deal…

I'll agree with this. And others who said weight loss surgery is not necessary. I had the gastric sleeve operation - but never learned how to eat better. So the last 2 weeks on this website have been me asking questions learning how to eat and not just lose from restricting portions insanely. If the OP is truly eating 1800…
-
I'm not upset at anything. I'm saying the chart is not relevant to the OP's situation. She *could* ideally lose 5 pounds a week the first several weeks. Almost triple what the chart says. Those charts lead to threads like "OMG, im losing too fast". No, you're not. It's just that you looked a stupid chart that is relevant…
-
I've also been losing eating lots of carbs.
-
Agreed.

About 130 pounds the first round. This 2nd round I've lost about 25 pounds so far. I never complained about your post. I simply said the generic 2 lb's a week is ideal message for people needed to lost 250lbs or more is false. It IS true for those needed to lose lesser weights, yes. I'm assuming your valuable contribution…

No, it's not. But people really need to stop judging on this forum because they do not know the medical issues that are impacting a persons metabolism. Does she has cushings or graves or hyperthydroidism? Does she have a metabolic disorder? The answer is you don't know. Just because YOU lose at 2350 doesn't mean someone…

Im not sure what calculator youre using but that seems about 1500 calories off.
-
Where does that # come from? I'm 80 pounds less than the OP and I have to eat 3700 calories to maintain.
-
People really need to stop posting these generic copy/paste messages on threads such as these. This is a person with 250 pounds or more to lose. 2 lb's a week on someone with that much to look is not "ideal". Any gastric doctor in the world would agree, such as his/hers, would expect much more per week.

Gotcha. Thanks everyone.
-
Me too. I honestly dont understand it. I've changed nothing else.
-
Thanks everyone

My mother used to work with a woman who was put on a 5,000 calorie per day diet just to maintain weight. She had these drinks that contained a crap load of calories and she had to down them. She was a small woman around 5 foot 2 inches and weighed around 100 pounds. My mother would joke with her and say she wished she had…

Stepped on the scale this morning and i'm down another pound. I cant figure it out but i'll take it.
-
I agree that probably happens a lot. But I'm a bit OCD, I weigh and log everything.
-
Thanks for all your advice. Honestly appreciate it. So you find your fitbit to be accurate at calculating calorie expendeture? I was thinking about the Bodymedia one.
-
Will a multivitamin fill the nutrition gap?
-
One of the formulas has me at 3700 and another has me at 3300 (TDEE). If I remember correctly? MFP tells me to eat 2800 a day to lose 2lb a week.
-
I'm eating about 2200 cals a day now. And I've lost 4 pounds in the last 4 days.
-
I want to be clear before the snark monsters show up. I am NOT saying that eating more led to the weight loss. I'm saying that when I started eating more, I started losing more. It could be coincidence. I'm simply saying that I'm adding it back to my list of possibilities.
-
I was eating a 1500 calorie defecit a day and losing 1 pound a week. And I weigh everything. Use the USDA database. I'm a little OCD. For whatever reason, the scale was stuck.
-
Yeah it says PB Sandwhich but its really just PB. I double checked the C/F/Ca/P against whats on the jar. I've seen changed to a more descriptive match. Which generic entries did you see? (so i can fix them). I try to match everything up to the label or the USDA before accepting! Thanks for the recommendation on the Fage.…
