  • My husband, who was a Drill Instructor in the Marines told me to do this. It works.
  • I've tried Dannon, Yoplait, and Chabani so far and Dannon is my favorite. It isn't as sour.
  • I think it's fluffy moose  I take 2 tsp of cheesecake flavored Instant Jello pudding and mix it in plain greek yogurt. For me it tastes just like cheesecake. I eat this everyday at lunch. I'm going to try chocolate and butterscotch at some point.
  • When I started MFP I was 270 lbs and MFP gave me 1520 calories to loose 2 lbs a week. I used the calorie count that MFP gave me and recalculate everytime it asked me to. I've lost 30 lbs in 3 months and am down to 1420 calories a day. I do exercise 6-7 days a week for an 45-60 minutes and started to run about 4 weeks ago.…
  • When I started this I took off 2 days a week after about 1 month I went down to 1 day off a week and now I work out everyday. I do weight training 3 days a week ( different muscles groups each time) and cardio (running 2-3 miles)3 days a week and then P90X plyometrics 1 day a week. I have alot of weight to loose, when I…
  • I heard he was working on P90X Plus- is it out? I haven't seen it yet?
  • She's from Cali---- I wish I could run outside all year around- I've ran in 100' but I will NOT go out in -60' I'm a wimp that way.
  • While you can either walk or run on the treadmill, it's my understanding that the elliptical burns more calories in the same amount of time and is easier on you joints then the treadmill. No bike- you have to work too hard to get the same results. (just my opinion) I have a treadmill don't really use it, I started running…
  • Me too! In the Mankato area. I do have to admit after some discussion my husband finally convinced me that 126 heat index IS better than the -60' wind chill we feel in Feb. And again we had the discussion "WHY DO WE LIVE HERE?"
  • Push ups if you don't have access to a gym, if you do.. push ups and bench press.
  • Yep, every time I get a glimpse of myself in the mirror it just motivates me to keep trying no matter how hard this is.
  • Ricco Dispirito has a cookbook out called "Now Eat This" and it has a substitute in it for mayonnaise in it called Rocco's Magnificent Mayonnaise. It uses plain greek yogurt as a base. His substitutes have been pretty good.
  • I have recently tried the snack idea that someone posted on here a few weeks ago. You take about a tsp of Instant Jello Pudding mix, my favorite is the cheesecake flavored one, and mix it in some greek yogurt. Yes-- I can now eat "cheesecake" and don't have to run an extra 3 miles to get rid of the calories and NO…
  • The amount of reps vs the weight depends on what you're going for. I do not want to build big muscle I just want tone and slightly defined.. so I do 3 to 4 sets of 12-15 reps with the last 3 being very hard or at failure. My husband however, lifts to failure by 8 reps at the most. We both lift but want different results so…
  • I'm not doing either of those programs but I use my HRM and log the time and calories off of that. I also make a note of how long I spend in the fat burning zone and the fitness zone. I was going off of the calories burned on MFP but since I got the HRM I've noticed how far over those calories were. So now I will always…
  • Be very careful- the MFP caloreis earned for exercise are high. I started using a HRM (heart rate monitor) and was amazed at the difference. So if you use them I would only use about half of them. I do suggest getting a HRM.
  • OK, I want your purse.
  • Bottled water, but I also budget for movie theater popcorn--- just gotta have it. YUMMY.
  • yep!! It's the first place I really noticed any weight loss. Since breasts are mostly just fat tissue you loose them as you loose fat. But I figure if my butt keeps getting smaller then you won't notice it so much. :blushing:
  • Me too- I have been continuing to loose durning these times, it's just usually less then the other weeks of the month.
  • My husband just bought me a HRM- and I was floored by the difference- I burned about 100 calories less when I tracked with the HRM compaired to what MFP had been telling me I was burning. I'm glad I made it a habit of not eating those exercise calories that I had burned. That would be my advice if you're not using a HRM…
  • I very quickly learned that a bagel and peanut butter is not a good breakfast-- especially since I can NOT eat just a TBSP of peanut butter. PS did I mention that I liked butter on that bagel too    However, since I've started MFP I have learned that I CAN run. :blushing:
  • What about the children question? I'm sorry to be intrusive and ask this personal of a question but do you know about having children after gastric bypass or lap band? Does it cause problems?
  • Ok so I went back and scanned the replys I was wondering about- the future- How does weight loss surgery effect pregnancy? Most of the people I know have problems with nutrition- I have alot of people who need monthly injections of vitamin B- and they have problems eating some types of foods. She is so young it would be…
  • I didn't read the other replys to you but I don't think surgery is a good option for her. I myself have toyed with the idea- I started this at 273 pounds and I'm 5"7", but I knew that if I couldn't control my eating now how would I control it after. Surgery is not a fix all. I'm a comfort eater, I thought about food all…
  • I also like to add some low fat granola or grapenuts for some crunch- just a tablespoon or two. YUM!!!
  • Me too!! I eat Chobani fruit on the bottom or even Dannon fruit on the bottom or the ones with honey on the bottom are good. I also use it instead of sour cream. It fills me up and I get some calcium, which we all need lots of and if your like me I just cringe when I have to drink my calories instead of eat them. Unless…
  • Please post what she says-- looks like lots of us would be interested in her answer. Thanks.
  • I'm so glad to hear that other women have this problem. I am so hungry, tired and my weight loss drops off at mid cycle for me. I tried to explain this to my husband who works out with me and all he's said is to exercise harder- his suggestion was to do 2 a days. Which would probably work, but that means working out…
  • I have a protien shake every morning after my work out on the way to work. It keeps me full until lunch so I don't snack. I only use about 1/3 of the amount they tell you to use and I mix it with skim milk so I'm getting my calcium too. I use the GNC chocolate Wheybolic one it tastes like chocolate milk so it also gives my…
