My 2012 goals - complete C25K - join a parkrun at least once a month (when kids football season has finished) - be able to do 5km without stopping - have a 5km time of less than 40 minutes (yes, I'm a very slow jogger/plodder right now) - inspire my kids to run too

Another bump. Thank you, such well written advice :drinker:

I have this and my favourite part is the challenges, I occasionally find the menu screens difficult to navigate but once I've changed the lighting in my room it usually sorts that out. You also have the update options from xbox to add extras and there is a really good section to create your own workouts. As previously…

Congratulations on smashing your PB, love the self leg envy, very motivating. Good luck for your next parkrun :)

Once football season is finished for the kids I'd love to take part in one of these. Seems like a well organised event.

just tried to place a hold at the library for The hunger games...I'm in at position 51!! Very popular book all round by the looks of it. Requested The Forest of Hands and Teeth to give that a try.

I have always like To Kill a Mockingbird and Pride and Prejudice, as my classic favourites. As a TA I read quite a few "children's" books and have enjoyed many Michael Murpurgo books.

Clear lip-gloss, shiny lips are my favourite :)

I like those, the colours are cool too. Hope they help keep you injury free :)

Will be off out to do w2d1 later, not sure how I feel really, mixture of nervousness and excitement! Doing it with pram again and another different route, though its literally a straight lane, so the scenery wont change but also no paths and road crossings to navigate either. I've set out 1mile markers so once I reach…

Good job on the 15k and setting yourself the challenges to complete You'll find lots of support and advice in this group. Good luck, please let us know how your c25k journey goes.

I'm back from completing w1d3 and I feel awesome! Changed route today which was good, better paths really but more dog walkers (and evidently dog-mess to avoid) so maybe time of day would be better a little later on for me. Saw a runner who looked fit and serious and he smiled and said good morning, that actually inspired…

Also what type of surface do you run on? If its constant pavement/sidewalk/concrete that may well be creating a shocked impact. Maybe have a go on something else, grass, track, etc. Let us know if you do go to a store, I'd like to hear of your experience with it.

Nike Dart 9 £20 actually from the children's running section. I love the design, the bright safe looking colours are a great idea. The cushioning is lovely for the price and the heel bit up the back is a great height for me. These are not my ideal shoes, I prefer the Asics Gels, but they're out of my price range at the…

Way to go for signing up to a 5k, that'll be a great motivator to stick with it. I'm on w1d3 today, have to do it with a pram/stroller which makes it annoying to manoeuvring road crossings etc, also will change my route as the incline on the paths is always on the same side which is making my right ankle a little sore. I…

Head on over to the C25k group http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/30-couch-to-5k-running-program-c25k Loads of information and support there. Do you have an mp3 player? I downloaded the NHS C25k plan from here--> http://www.nhs.uk/LiveWell/c25k/Pages/couch-to-5k.aspx Hope that's of some help. So far I've completed 6…

Me!! *raises hand* I'm behind, the weekends throw all my plans out the window, so I'm not where I had hoped or keeping up at all right now, but the way I look at it is for every minute I do complete I'm winning the race with my old self who'd still be on the couch making more excuses. Personally I wouldn't do more than one…
