What I do is cook up several pieces of chicken one night and then keep them in a plastic container in the fridge. When I get home from the gym about 7 PM, I will microwave some steam & serve veggies and heat up the piece of chicken. Or I will cook a piece of frozen fish that I have thawed under running water for a few…

I have printed off my reports to talk with my trainer tonight. She initially advised me to stay at 1200 calories a day on the off exercise day. Which I have finally gotten down well, while eating good calories, fish, chicken, veggies, salads, yogurt, etc. None or very, very, little sweets, no fried, etc. But i have a hard…

Thanks for these posts. I weighed myself this morning and did a check-in. I was disappointed that I GAINED back 2lbs of the 3 1/2 lbs. that I had lost. I have been doing weights 2 times a weeks so maybe that is it. But it really bummed me out. I just FEEL less bloated. But I would like to see some progress reflected in the…

Dancing is a great way to excerise and it doesn't seem like exercise. I wish the gym would do more dance type classes. They are so less boring than the regular cardio classes. That Latin Zumba sounds like fun. Wish they had that at my gym.

Then with her for 50 min. of strength training with weights & machines. One day upper body and core and the next time, lower body. Then the final 10…

WOW !! That is one I hadn't thought of. Will have to try it. 2shoes: Love your "baby" picture. I have 2 Bichons but am itching for a Yorkie. I keep restraining myself since I really don't need another dog. (I have a cat also) But he/she is really cute.

Since we are all looking for dinner ideas that satisfy and yet are low cal, I thought I would share what I had last night. It was yummy, looked fantastic on the plate and even passed the husband "I'm tired of chicken and want something good" test. He said save this one, we'll have it again. WOW! This was called "Orange…

Thanks for your reply. I since read a very detailed post on this subject which explained that we must eat our exercise calories and how not doing so will put us in a starvation senerio for the day. So I am stepping up my eating on the days that I exercise. I think I am getting a handle on what I can have for 1200 calories.…

Hi, I am wondering about this also. I am trying to stay at about 1200 calories per day on food intake. I work out with a trainer 1 hr. each 2 times a week for about 500 calories - includes strength training mostly and some cardiio. Are we supposed to consume more calories to make it NET 1200 calories. When I looked at the…

Congratulations on a great decision!!! I quit 6 years ago, when my then 3 1/2 year old granddaughter reached for my cigarette in the ashtray. She said she wanted some too, like Grandma. That did me. I thought "What kind of a role model am I to my precious grandchildren." I quit "cold turkey" while my husband continued to…

I haven't lost a pound yet but after 5 sessions with the trainer I can see some improvement in my strength and overall stamina. It is helpful to be reminded of the…
