  • Bump, I need some ideas on this one too.....
  • Must say I agree a lot of those training plans can be a bit much! I have done 7 marathons now, next next is on 22nd Oct 10 days time weheee! and I have a place in London.. :-) I have found that my legs cannot do more than 30 miles a week before they start to get injured, I do my own little plans that are 3 runs a week, 1…
  • I did the first marathon, but not since... But could do for London I have a ballot place but always feel you should try and raise a few penies for london as everyone else is... in return it only seams fair to blog so think I will... what milage are you doing now? Oh and runners world website is fab for loads of…
  • YES go for it! I went from Smoker to Marathon runner in less than a year, it was a tough first year but now i try and do about 2 marathons a year and LOVE IT.... Doing Beachy Head Marathon on 22nd Oct 2011 and I have a place in London 2012 so I will add you and keep pushing you out on those long runs though the winter - I…
  • Yes if do I dont eat some carbs and protein before a long one, this year I have taken to spelt bread with nutella! but only because I love bread and nutella and have taken it out of my normal diet but over the past few months I have done over a dozen 15plus runs and 2 18plus and I have been really good on all off them! I…
  • I also have an InStep 10k which is great, a friend gave it to me, she had her daughter in it for 4 years and so far I have been using it 3 1/2 years, love it. But I have to stop running to get it up and down pavements so I tend to walk down to the seafront and run along there which is a good 6mile strip of evenish concrete.
  • I agree everyone should run ;-) I burn 700 cals doing an hours run and 300 in a gym for a hour! Dont really mean that at all! I think you should do what you enjoy, at the end of the day if you enjoy exercise you will do it for a long time so that has to be better than someone working out in a Gym everyday for…
  • HI, think I agree with you friend, keep them for pregnancy, if thats what you are planning. When I got pregnant there seams to ages when you are just not big enough for maternity clothes but too big for your normal stuff, then the same applies after you have had a baby... Still does for me, getting back to the old stuff!…
  • Thank you for all your great ideas, I am going to work my way through eating them :drinker:
  • I have always tried to eat as little processed food as I can, I do find it very odd that putting a chicken breast under the grill and a few veggies in a saucepan is really anymore difficult or time consuming than putting a ready made meal under grill, after all you still have to do the veg? I don't like pasta or rice much…
  • With me alcohol always makes the scale go up, it doesn't matter if I only have one I will still gain weight the following day, so I try to only drink once a week and not too much - easier said than done when its the summer and party season..
  • Thats an amazing difference, you look fantastic.. Thanks for posting this I am 8 lbs down but I didn't take any photos and I must say I keep having days when I think its only 8 lbs has it really made any difference, but it has you have just shown me that :flowerforyou:
  • I get up early and go for a run, only way in hot weather...
  • i have mine open, mainly because I look at other peoples to try and learn from what they are eating and to get some new ideas for recipes etc. If I find other peoples helpful I think I should I should return the trust and let them see mine. This site is great for support and a big part of the support for me is seeing what…
  • A good really really easy one is cottage Cheese and oatcakes, have to go careful on the oatcakes but it will keep you full. Or eggs I think about 70 cals each. Other than that what already been said you have a chicken breast or fish and a really big plate full of green leafy veg for under 400 cals.
  • What about vegetables? I try not to have too many carbs for supper and have a very nice full plate, of low fat protein ie chicken, turkey or fish and plate of green low carb veg: Broccoli, Green beans, courgettes, peppers, asparagus, aubergine, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Kale, Mangetout, Peas, Spinach, Runner beans. Or if its…
  • Well done, I am having to work at every 1lb too its tough but worth it!
  • Wooow thats fantastic, I really need some more ideas we keep eating the same thing week after week - its getting a tad dull! but not anymore :-) Thank you x
  • This is totally disguising how can they go against the entire medical profession and say that an underweight BMI is healthy! These stupid self centred, shallow freaks need to get a grip on the fact that there inadequacies are killing our young girls and the media need to take some responsibility as well. I have a friend…
  • Here is a link to a guy who is a personal trainer in the UK. http://www.londonpersonaltrainingstudio.com/ If you goto the the free elimination workout bit and sign up to that he has a very very different view, they don't ask for money or anything like that. I have been trying to copy and paste the link to the actual diet…
  • Good luck, I am in London next April so we can keep each other running over the winter. Think the most important thing is to go and get some really good advice about you shoes, as has been said before somewhere like the sweetshop are great and will help, make sure you let them know about where your pains are and they maybe…
  • Yes I know what you mean too, I'm about 150lbs want to be 120 - 126lbs ay 5'3" I AM in the overweight BMI but because I am not that big and short people look at me like I am nuts when I say I am watching what I eat! I never say the diet word because then 1/2 my friends let me not to be stupid! Thing is before I had a baby…
  • Love to join in, I have also been looking for people like me too!! :-) I am 5'3" and 69kg I think 150lbs need to be 120lb by October but mini target of 132lbs by 6th August which is looking very realistic at the moment! I Must say the drive to reach mini target is stoping me eating all the exercise calories mainly because…
  • Good luck with the Marathon and Happy Birthday :-)
  • That is so amazing, not only the weight loss you look so good. But what inspires me even more is the running time. That is a huge speed increase! Well done:-) One of my main reasons for being on here is off course to loose weight to look better but also to run faster. I do 10ks in just under an hour, 1/2's in about 2.20…
  • Hello I did the London Marathon in April, 5.14 was too hot for me after months of training in the cold the sun shone that day! It was wonderful so many people cheering us along and running around Buckingham place was the most amazing feeling! Done it 3 times now and cry every time I go over the start line :-) I am how…
  • Lots and lots :-) I love new trainers, they make you feel so light and bouncy when they are new! I was always told you should have 2 pairs on the go and alternate between them so the cushing can recover. I dont do that but I tend to do 2 marathons a year and replace them at the start of the marathon training,…
  • I know what you mean! Think I am just lazy a bag of salad and a pot of cottage cheese for lunch and chicken with veg for supper - I am so board with chicken! I cant keeping eat such a limited and dull set of foods... I find all the food diarys so helpful Thank you to everyone who has them public......
