Hi all, Please feel free to comment on my diary - its not as good as it could be as I have had many party nights out recently. and I think my exercise calories are a bit over-estimated, so I dont eat them all back. I have put on 4lbs in 4 wks!
To be honest I felt like I was losing more not logging as I just ate when I was hungry!
Now I am trying to eat what MFP tells me as I am too worried about not eating enough.
I dont get it!
Thanks in advance
Jenny

With me alcohol always makes the scale go up, it doesn't matter if I only have one I will still gain weight the following day, so I try to only drink once a week and not too much - easier said than done when its the summer and party season..0

You seem to not be eating back your exercise calories?
There is A LOT of debate on here as to wheter you should eat them back or not. I do and I have lost pretty much consistently.
Booze also makes me hold on to water weight, I try to limit myself to a few drinks (maybe 4 vodka and diet cokes) once / twice per week.0 -

in my opinion, there is a lot to be said for listening to your body and your own appetite.
MFP is only one way of doing it and it works really well for some people and not for others. Just like some people get on better with slimming world than with weightwatchers or vice versa.
I dont believe in eating more than your appetite, ever. Thats how people got into the mess in the first place, and if youre gaining on it, then maybe do what you were doing before, but still hang around for the good tips and support on the message boards etc.x0 -
I've added a custom "Booze" section to my food tracker - it's a bit of an eye-opener seeing where all those empty calories went!0

Same here! I wasn't losing at all, gave up drinking during the week and there we have it!0

i dont eat back my exercise calories, i see it as a BONUS, also as above i have taken alcohol pretty much out of my diet altogether as this is what puts the weight on most. that said when i lost a stone i stopped losing for a FEW weeks and couldnt understand why, as i was really strict, so i changed a few things around tried different meals ect ate a few more calories and it seemed to kick start the weight loss again, hpe this helps0
