  • I'm looking to make friends with other people from York County, PA. I had gastric bypass and I also have PCOS. currently am doing strength training and would love to chat with people with similar conditions.
  • I started off on Byetta. I have never been pregnant, but I learned what it felt like to have morning sickness. I was so sick all the time that even blinking made me throw up. As a teacher, I didn't have access to the bathroom on a regular basis and if I overate, I threw up terribly. I switched to Victoza, which was…
  • I'm diabetic (Type 2). I had 2 great nutritionists who helped me. First, I tried to use the net carbs to make sure my protein was more than my carbs. Now, I more or less just count carbs and make sure that each food I eat has no more than 15-19 carbs. My biggest help was making sure to switch to real foods and cut…
  • What is a fitbit? I do have a pedometer - I haven't worn in this year yet because I'm trying to locate it.
  • Okay - thanks for all the honest advice. I agree that I typically don't log some of the teaching since I don't reach my heart rate, but someone had said she logs hers. I have started walking around the building after school which is beneficial. ::happy: : Kindergarten - I taught for 3 weeks in order to get my master's in…
  • I was told that it would very difficult to lose weight. When I lost 20 lbs after being a camp counselor, I told my new doctor and she said I doubt that. I was like I wonder what that means, but as I continued to see her, I realized this was her rude bedside manner coming out. It is harder. I finally found an…
  • This site has been awesome. It holds me accountable. Once I stop tracking, I start fudging. I'll eat more than I should. I'll not pay attention to testing blood sugars, and of course the people I chat with on here are pretty awesome and fun to talk with.
  • That happened to me a few months after I starting going to the gym on my own without my workout buddy. I walked around to go to the bathroom and this woman was in a very very very very short towel. I went to the bathroom, came out, and she had dropped the towel and proceeded to blowdry her hair while staring straight at…
  • When I went to a nutrition class, the nurse said that this is not a diet because those are temporary fixes when you need to lose a few pounds here or there for an event. She said that you are making lifestyle changes that should (ideally) be permanent.
  • There are two things that I bought that are amazing for my kitchen - the toaster oven and the GF Grill. I use both regularly. I love fish and I typically will grill fish several times a week. I'm also grilling most of my fresh veggies if I'm not buying frozen/steamed.
  • Anyone have the dark patches (can't spell the actual name)? I'm so frustrated not being able to wear short sleeves. Anyone have anything that gets rid of them? My doctor said I'm stuck with it, but it'll fade as I lose weight. Feel free to add.
  • I do not have a Wii but my sisters do. My sisters have Zumba Fitness and nobody uses it so I was interested in trying it out. It is the best workout and so much fun! I'm interesting in trying Wii Fit. Did you try that yet?

  • Thanks for the tips! I try to stay on a schedule because (1) it's easier for me not to stray and (2) during the school year I teach so I'm on a schedule whether I like it or not and (3) Byetta. First meal of the day is eaten and man was it delicious!
  • Thank you - I was being to think I was weirder that I already am.
  • I was put on Metformin a few years ago. I am a teacher so I waited until Christmas break to take it. Big mistake! I could NOT tolerate it at all. I stopped it after the first dose. She tried me on Byetta. The first day I took it an hour before breakfast. I learned what it was like to have morning sickness. It hurt to even…

  • Sorry that's without the veggeies...it's an individual pizza (four slices or so)
  • According to fitnesspal 220 calories, 20 carbs, 9 fat I put it in my toaster oven and bake it there for 4 - 6 minutes. I tried it in the oven, but it didn't taste as crunchy, but it was still good. It's actually what I'm eating right now.
  • The funny thing is when I first was diagnosed, I couldn't find a single person with this. Then I move back to PA and people left and right were telling me about it. It's been very hard for me especially since I'm ready to have kids and can't. My endocronologist suggested this site to start tracking my weight. I'm also a…
  • I am such a picky eater so I guess for me I need a yellow egg. I tried egg whites and I just couldn't get over the fact that they didn't look or taste too much like eggs. I tried to put some Hot Sauce on it to color it up. I like Egg Beaters.
