  • Great advise everyone!!! It's helpful to know that others are in the same boat and have made it work for them. Grocery stores are often not an option for me, so I have to deal with the small town restaurants (think lots of salt and fried stuff with minimal fresh greens). One trick I have tried lately is asking if I can…
  • do you use the MFP app on your smartphone? If so, there is a feature to remind you if you haven't logged in a while (like if you haven't logged breakfast by 10AM). Maybe that would help you keep on track.
  • I am definitely an overeater - certifiably. Emotions usually trigger the start of the cycle and I can't stop until all the food is gone. I just accept that this is going to happen on occasion - life happens. I just try to limit the triggers, have healthy options (in limited quantities) available, and drink LOTS of water.…
  • I completely agree with this philosophy. On days when I overeat, I just keep logging everything. That way I see how big of a hole I'm digging for myself and have full knowledge of what it will take to dig myself back out. "Just keep logging" is my mantra. I recently gained 5 lbs during a week of catered breakfasts and…
  • One of the money savers I discovered recently is premaking and freezing individual portions of hearty foods. For instance, I rarely eat rice, so I had been purchasing it in 1 or 2 serving, shelf-stable or frozen packages. But I realized that I could make a big batch of rice, portion it out in silicone muffin pans, freeze,…
  • There are a wide variety of chair exercises that you can do for strengthening your upper body. You can also work on your core with situps and crunches.

I get them at Costco in a big pack and they are great for breakfast burritos and lunch wraps. ~Fiber One Cereal (Original) - 60 calories (1/2 cup), 1 fat, 25 carb, 14…
  • Cheeeeeeese. I used to grab a stick of cheese as a snack at least once a day and would add cheese to everything - roast veggies with parmesan, shredded cheese on my eggs in the morning and salad in the evening. Now I can't tell you the last time I had cheese. Weird. I didn't even notice that I wasn't eating it anymore…
  • Yep, I'm there at 5'9" and I need to lose 100 lbs. It's clear to anyone that I'm overweight, but nobody believes that I have 100 lbs to lose. They think I'm trying to starve myself and get to an unrealistic number. I have to admit though, it is really nice to have all of the height for my weight to distribute through. My…
  • Like I said, I can eat an apple after a full meal (stomach is full of protein and other stuff) but it still has the same effect. I doubt it's the carbs or sugar, because I can eat pure sugar (or other very sweet foods) and not have this problem.
