Why not? It's about lifestyle change. Two days won't make a huge difference. Two days every week for the next six months will.

As I said, I am not failing to acknowledge them, but I am pointing out that (imo) a lot of people who do eat poorly do so because they lack the knowledge. I believe psychological and emotional eaters are representing perhaps a smaller minority. A lot of people eat poorly, simply because they don't know how to eat well.

What time do you eat dinner? Have you tried an early night?

I think she said it was a water fast?
-
She's teaching a gym glass? The last thing you want is food before intensive sport.

That's very interesting, so it could theoretically be fried with just it's own oil which might even be a positive on the calorie front. Add some paprika or cajun in there and you've got a very flavourful food I reckon. Definitely got to try that next. Raw between bread sounds quite tasty, but I've pretty much cut bread out…

Sounds spot on to me ;)

I'm surprised anyone used the cup measurement anyway? It's a completely arbitrary unit of measurement. "It's like saying I want a drawer of salad".
-
I'm not an expert at all, so all this advice is probably crap but here we go. I spent years over-eating without truly realizing it until I had ballooned. You have a head start here, because in my opinion, acknowledging the fact you're over-eating is perhaps a better start than saying one day "crap, I've put a load of…

Odd... maybe your protein shaker is broken? Mine go in no problem, feathers n'all?
-
Indeed high school physics lesson 1. Should have thought about that. Just realized how stupid that sounded reading it back. Next test is oven baked, then grilled, then all sorts of recipes :)

Hahaha, that's actually funny. It does seem to be a real Marmite food. I tried it raw and instantly thought "wow, I like this" then after a second bite thought "erm, not so much now". It's initial taste is very nice, but then it goes very rubbery, can't really explain it. Still, the spicy tofu I've made is actually really…

I love broccoli, and my favourite way of cooking it, is to steam it. The muppets way (as in the way I do it haha) take a colander (metal!!), put it and other veg in. Fill a pan with water. Bring to oil then let it simmer. Tastes delicious and keeps a lot of the flavour and nutrients.

I roughly weighed it yes, as in I used half the packet, so I know the weight. That said, my question is more about whether frying it will add a significant amount of calories. I know that the sprayer claims each spray is 2 calories, but is it as simple as saying, okay this tofu was x calories, now it's x + 16 calories for…

I'm a great protein salesman. I can sell you pure protein.... and to make it better, I disguise it as chicken

I've never heard of a water fast, I'll have to check it out. I hate recommending this, but when I desperately need a boost, if I've got a football match coming up or something, I take an electrolyte caffeine pill. They contain 75mg of caffeine and I must admit, I've seen results on a fair few occasions, that said, to avoid…

Doesn't this depend what time of the day it is though? Like if you have a heavy workout in the morning, then in my opinion, eat quickly afterwards because you might crash and become very hungry. That's when you're likely to binge. However, late at night? Maybe some 0% natural yoghurt or tofu, just enough to get you to bed.…

That fundamentally, a diet starts with knowledge and research, not f***ing pseudo-science. One of the hardest parts of getting into the diet I am in (which is really delivering results so far) is that I simply didn't have a good diet plan, I didn't know what foods to avoid, I didn't know what foods to eat, and I didn't…

As a male, I think people assume we don't give a crap about what others think, but actually when I went the gym, I found it quite hard. Despite being overweight, I've always been quite fit. Running? No problem. 90 minutes of football? No issue at all. Just a few weeks ago, I played a football tournament that lasted all day…

I've also cut out bread pretty much completely. No white bread, no brown bread.... the only times I ever have bread is when it's absolutely necessary and there's no other option. When that is the case, I have brown wholemeal as I'm yet to get my hands on some Low GI from LIDL.
-
I am doing a low GI diet, which relies on less carbs, more protein. For breakfast, I have three eggs, either scrambled (no milk or butter) with black peppercorn, or poached in a noodle bowl (which tastes better than you might think, no actual noodles  ). For lunch, I've been having salad with skinless chicken. Salad…

Thanks, hopefully I can stick to this and I'll begin to lose weight :)

Thanks for your reply Anna, I really appreciate it. Yes, it's not the fact I can't physically eat 2000 calories, of course I can, and I certainly have in the past. It's the fact I've forcefully changed my mentality to consider calories in absolutely everything and some things I just say, "ooh i can't have that", even…

So is it about moderation across the week? Say I go a bit higher one day then less on the other days + the fasting?
-
Well, when I think healthy lifestyle, the main thing I think of is my diet and what I need to change and remove. I've now removed a number of those things (fast food being the main one).
-
Thanks very much!! Yeah I can spare five 5 minutes of course. Just what with work and stuff I don't get chance to go through all these different diet books. I figured the 5:2 diet was good for me because it means I don't have to change too much about my schedule. I wish I could do more exercise, but football twice a week…
-
You're probably right!! Just haven't got the time to go about reading diet books etc :(
-
Thanks for your replies everyone, much appreciated. OK, point taken so I need to up my calories on my non-fasting days. I must admit, upping them isn't always that easy, because it involves me putting the things I'm desperately trying to keep away from I guess. I might pop down the supermarket and grab some cheese or ham I…
-
Yes it's homemade. I didn't enter a recipe, I worked it out from the back of the pack and then searched for a generic beef stew. The one in the list was close enough (About 10 off) which I figured was fine for a non-fasting day. It's difficult with something like beef stew to precisely work out calories because chunks of…

Thanks gelar, I have to admit. I felt amazing this morning. Yesterday was my first day of fasting and I woke up fresher than I have for years. I felt great!! I will definitely take your advice. I will see how I feel tomorrow. I don't want to lose it and end up binging, but right now, I feel so motivated, I'm more likely to…
