Vital wheat gluten is also at conventional stores like Kroger and Meijer in the flour section.

If you want some more info, here's a PubMed link for a journal article from Cell Metabolism. It's fairly recent from 2014 and discusses the benefits of water fasting. As for my n=1 with extended water fasting and stress reduction, it mellows me out. Works out great for reducing fear when going to the dentist. :) It's not…

I actually would like to get in contact with the authors of that Medline page. They forgot to include an important factor for wrist size: weight. An obese person will have a bigger wrist size than if they were thin because fat still accumulates there. At my thinnest I had a 5.25" wrist and at my heaviest it was 6.75". So…

I don't think it's your calorie range that is causing your problems. I water fast for weeks at a time without any negative effects. See a doctor.

Weighing 300 lbs is a serious health problem. If his girlfriend cares about him, of course she should bring it up. What I find interesting is that we tend to tiptoe around obesity and overeating. Why? Imagine if that man did the opposite, starting out at 200 lbs and losing 5 stone in a year. Even if he was 5'10", 130 lbs…

As long as you're not in some kind of awful pain, I would try gentle stretching and strengthening exercises targeted for the back and hips first. I went the chiropractic care route for years and never found much relief. I kept going for so long because loved ones swore by it and wanted the same for me (as did I!). Then I…

Yes, you'll lose some of the fat off your boobs and butt. As will you'll lose some fat off the rest of your body. And this will only make you look way sexier.

What does your doctor mean by low carb? Hoping he's thinking more along the lines of cutting back on carbs, not going full out kept or Atkins. If you just need to cut back, the diet changes will be more tolerable and you'll be more successful in the long run.

I was sorely confused by OP's post, wondering if kitten was supposed to be code for something that rhymes with wussy. Wasn't until I read her last sentence that it began to make sense.

The exercises in this book changed my butt for the better. Simple to do and no weights required. Found it at the library.

Read the title and thought you were excited about going through menopause. :D Congrats on the weight loss and the move to Washington!

You are amazing! You look like one of those naturally thin, never-been-fat-before women. And how nice your husband joined you in getting healthier. Honestly, I had to look back at the old photos to figure out if he was the same guy. LOL

Ultimate plan is to lose 30 more lbs. I've been maintaining at the upper end of a normal BMI for several month. Just haven't had that gusto to keep eating low calorie. One day I'll get my mojo back and lose the rest, but for now I'm content at this weight.

Aiming to lose a stone in a month is a serious feat. Losing that amount is never going to happen in a week. Unless maybe you're 600 lbs and retaining water like nobody's business.

At my current weight, I'm a 34G. Back before I became obese and was originally at this weight, I was a 36C. So yes, you may end up keeping the extra padding. Personally, I am really hoping to go back to a C or even a B. I <3 small boobs. I think they look better.

And is starvation mode even a real thing for casual dieters? I routinely water fast for 10 days at a time (spiritual reasons) and have never experienced anything where my body starts storing fat because of it.

Cheat days seem to work for some people, but I'd rather not. I may have days where I eat close to maintenance, but going above that feels unnecessary to me. 80+ lbs ago I had a lot of cheat days....don't ever want to get back in that "eat all the foods!" mentality. I'm not one of those people who can easily reign in the…

Go get your stomach checked out by a doctor. Demand an ultrasound and any other tests available. Hopefully it's something minor, but better safe than sorry, right?

This article gives some good insight. Now I have a better understanding of all this. Thanks for posting the link!

Nice definition, Synacious! Your transformation is super motivating. Thanks for sharing it!

Really? One of the best things about losing weight for me has been my bust getting smaller because it doesn't overpower my waist anymore. I always thought I looked fatter overall because of my big bust.

For the last 7 months, I've been eating all my calories within a 4-hour period in the evening. Hasn't hurt my weight loss any. 70 lbs down since. :)

How many calories you are eating a day? Are you tracking everything accurately?
-
How do you feel on 800-1,000 calories? Is it an everyday thing, or do you eat a bit more on weekends/special occasions? Do you have a lot of weight to lose? I lost my first 80 lbs by averaging under 1,000 calories a day. Most days were 700-800 and once a week or so, it'd be about twice that. Did it for months. No ill…

Are you a serious bodybuilder or something? If not, then you can relax on the protein. And 100g of carbs is on the low side. It's perfectly fine to go higher than that. #1 concern is staying in a calorie deficit. Your chances of weight loss success are much higher if you're happy with your food choices.
-
Here's my day yesterday. (Realizing now that it's totally lacking in greens :s .) 85g isn't the 100+ you're looking for, but if your calorie allowance is higher it wouldn't take much to reach that goal. And I'm sure if I replaced the calorie-laden sugary baked beans with plain beans, that'd help the macros. Too yummy to…

Rethink that. Asparagus soup with a side of salted tofu, tofu with BBQ sauce and a side of baked beans, rice with mushrooms & vegetable broth, bean soup--these are some of the ready-made/easy-to-prepare foods I like to eat. My family is full of fussy eaters, so I'm usually too busy preparing their meals to want to take any…

I tried roller blading back in my 20s and had to stop because my ankles kept getting so sore. Glad you had an awesome time! Especially nice that your daughter went with you.

My newest food love affair at Trader Joe's is their creamy asparagus soup. It's 200 calories for the container. It's spicy and tastes a lot like potato soup to me.
