Doing benchpress (just about any compound lifts to be honest) to failure each and every time is not advised in my opinion. The idea is to have something left in the tank without having the CNS depleted. You can have days where you can lift to failure, and on those days you could ensure you have a spotter - otherwise idea…

I was watching the live telecast yesterday and astonished by how poorly the US played. Maybe it was the first olympics game jitters and hoping for a bounceback!

Correct with the first sentence and wrong with the "too many carbs make you" fat statement. Weight gain has nothing to do with eating one particular macros more than the other. It's the overall caloric intake that makes you gain weight.

There is no such thing as slow or fast metabolism. There was an extensive study done, where 68% of the people fall within the range of 300 calories. 98% of the people fall within the range of around 400 calories. So the probability is that your resting metabolic rate is no different than the next person.…

QFT! Trainer should really be able to assist you learning the proper form. Especially how to properly Squat, Deadlift etc.

IF is nothing but a method to schedule your meals as one or two big meals. It wouldn't miraculously help you lose weight. All it is to fit your meals at the most convenient times. For some people it assists with hunger by having large meals. To lose weight, what matters is calorie deficit. I did it for 6 months and I…

I don't. I just move on and perceive the next day as the new day. If you live in this guilty state of mind, it will continue and you'd never be able to put a stop to it. The key is having the ability to move on from it and starting from scratch - otherwise this cycle will continue. I know easier said than done, but it's…

I have it. But I use it to chop garlic and onions B)

Bingo. I eat everything, especially the delicacies I enjoy and fit them in within my daily calories intake. Stop demonizing them and embrace it all.

OP, I make a 6-eggwhite omelette with one whole egg. I add butter, onions, spinach, pinch of garlic, turkey or chicken and some hot jalapenos peppers w/toast of white bread. The entire meal is less than 500 cals and around 55g of protein.

I don't know about everyone else, but the best results have been yielded for me when I stay within the rep range of 5-8. Of course, as I get to smaller accessory exercises, I would veer off to 10-12 range, but that's on the minimum side and when I just have nothing left in the tank. According to Lyle Mcdonald the most…

We tend to overestimate our calorie burn and underestimate calories eaten. So I would venture to guess (and I hope) that's she not netting 450-700 calories. Nevertheless, great advice. OP, more than likely some of the weight loss is water loss.

Wow. Really sorry to hear that you've gone through all this. I'm going to be blunt here. Unfortunately these problems will continue no matter how many guys you go through in your life. Based on how you were able to accept these guys back despite all the abuse, it's more than just that these guys are abusive to you. As you…

BINGO. More often than not, when we binge or overeat for whatever reason, this moment becomes a starting point for the inevitable failure that's looming. You need to change your mindset and perception about how you deal with a situation of overeating. Once you overcome that, not only you'll be able to handle these…

Yup! I would have brunch as my first meal. Breakfast and Lunch together as a one large meal. I can never skip breakfast food. Always loved it!

I did it last year for about 6 months. I followed the 16:8 method. There were benefits and drawbacks. The benefits were having to eat two large meals and not having to worry about getting hungry all the time. The drawback was working out fasted. In the beginning it was great, I had all the energy necessary to do the lifts,…

Man, I gotta put this out there though, but some of y'all are bunch of complainers! Sorry, but some of the things people are complaining about are just unavoidable if there is a shared public setting - there is just no running away from it. Although the common etiquette of re-racking and cleaning up after yourselves should…

It's after I get done with the gym when I really feel alive.

Does it have to be strong lifts? Based on your schedule looks like it may not be very feasible to achieve. Why don't you do Push/Lower/Pull split 3 days in a row? Just make sure you concentrate on the big compound lifts and progressively overloading.

This just shows how lucrative the fitness industry is. You can practically come up with anything out of your *kitten* and people will believe and fall prey to it. I should seriously consider starting my own 'magik diet' program. *ponders*

The initial loss was probably mainly attributed to water loss. Eat in caloric deficit, and As long as it can fit your daily intake, don't deprive yourself of the little delicacies that we all enjoy! Good luck!

not much actually lol only around 1850-1990 depending on how hard I workout - still cutting. I just consume majority of my calories (especially carbs) few hours prior to my workouts for fuel :)
