What a beautiful success story! You look amazing & radiate positive spirit. Your eyes are gorgeous.

I believe what you might be experiencing is DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness). When you added all these additional activities, you cause microtears in the muscles & they must recover & water retention is part of that. A drag, I know, but in the long run you're doing it right. Just stay the course. Sounds like you've…

For me, if I eat back all my fitbit says I can, I don't lose weight. So, yeah only half if any. If you're starving, that is not a sustainable program. Vegetables have few calories, so you can eat quite a lot without messing up your calorie deficit. And, roasted vegetables are awesome.

Do you have a food scale? It helps me a lot Also, I have found I cannot eat back the calories my fitbit says I earned. Darn. If I do, I pretty much just maintain. If I really want to lose weight I have to keep it at 1200 calories or less per day. It does seem a little early for a plateau. Also, the goal is a life style…

Great accomplishment! You've already proven you can do it with MFP. Just keep chipping away regardless of what the insurer says. You can reach your goals.

I totally feel ya. I am about 4 lbs. from my present goal & it is coming off so slowly I wonder if I'll ever get to maintenance. I am on day 776. I too cannot unknow what I know now. I look at food & think are those calories worth it? But that being said, this is the only method I have found that I can do for a lifetime &…

I am 5' and have been on mfp for 581 consecutive days. I have lost 41 lbs. & followed their suggested 1200 calorie intake to accomplish my goal. I also exercise everyday & use a fitbit to add back in additional calories. Mfp will tell you when you consume too little (under 1000) . Many people have followed this regimen to…

Amazing! Great tips too!

Hooray for you!

Me too :/

Yes, sad to say mostly a fad. I have read to avoid putting it on your face because it is comodegenic (clogs pores). But, I read a recent article on Science Alert, http://www.sciencealert.com/scientists-discover-a-new-way-to-cook-rice-that-could-halve-the-calories that seems legit. I have been doing this with both white &…

You got this! You've done it before.

What works for me is keeping a ziploc bag of salad & a container of some type of homemade soup in the refrigerator at all times. This plus an omelet or meat added to the soup or salad & I have a meal ready to eat.

I can only imagine how busy your life is. I think the key is planning. I always have a ziploc bag of salad made up in the fridge & a container of some type of soup made up. I also stock a low cal popcorn in the pantry. when my children were small, I can tell you I did not set aside time for myself enough. I went to the…

You look amazing! Great job getting to where you want to be. And, so true what you said about anybody can do this.

That is such a doable goal! You got this!

Yes, I want more friends!

You have to weigh out portions. Some people weigh out 1 cup portions & total up the number of portions there are. Say you have 8 cups of chili total, just input 8 servings in the recipe builder. The one thing I have trouble with is when I input it in the database of My Recipes instead of a gram or cup amount, it says "1…

Great job! You look great & I know you love putting on those old jeans!

Been here since late July. I have lost 30 lbs., near my goal, but unsure when I want to stop. I love MFP, it is the only thing that is doable in the long term. Add me if you like.

Inspiring! Thanks for educating everyone. I plan to review your previous posts.

Great job! Isn't fun to see the pounds melt away. I was amazed when I started counting calories on MFP that I could still eat and lose weight. Awareness was the key & exercise just makes it better by giving you more energy & extra calories in your bank to spend, if you so choose. Best of luck going forward.

You seem to be at the point where you've tried what didn't work. Now, try what does...a life style change that incorporates eating a balanced diet within your MFP goals. You don't win a prize for the lowest calorie intake, as you can see, you end up sabotaging yourself. You can only succeed if you can maintain the life…

What a touching intro! MFP is the only method that could work for me. Just stick with it, log daily & at least go for a walk each day with your wife. If you stick with the your calorie allotment, even if you don't exercise you will lose weight. Good luck. Feel free to add me as well. The encouragement is important.
