  • Not working for me either. Says it is expired but it is clearly not past the expiration time yet.
  • I haven't checked in for a couple of weeks but here goes... SW - 232 Challenge SW - 224 CW - 214.8 (-9.2 challenge/17.2 total) GW - 170 GW for this challenge - 194 by 1/1/17 I suffered a lower back strain which limited my activity for a while so my loss slowed. Picking back up again.
  • Do you have a relationship with your physical therapist such that you could give him/her a call and get their opinion?
  • I start every day with a Trutein shake. They have some great breakfast flavors (Banana Cream and Cinnabun are my faves). I usually use 1 scoop powder (24 or 25 grams protein), 1 cup almond/cashew milk (makes it creamier), powdered kale, flax seed, oat flour and a fruit or carrots. I measure everything carefully so the…
  • I hit a bit of a roadblock...suffered a lower back sprain last Saturday which severely limited my activity this week. Monday - Wednesday I could hardly get though the day. Its starting to feel better now but I'm not sure when I'll totally be back to normal. On the bright side, this incident made me finally make an…
  • I'm down 10 pounds in 5 weeks. I'm ecstatic. I look down at the scale and I don't believe the numbers. I want to stress that it is by no means easy. I still have times I want to eat when I am probably not hungry and I sometimes I give in to those urges. It just happens a lot less. Yesterday was a difficult day for me. I…

  • My first weigh-in for this challenge. Challenge SW - 224 CW - 221.8 Challenge GW - 194
  • Hi all. I just joined this challenge. My name is Valerie. I am a 42-year old RN but not in a hospital so my job isn't overly active. I did get an activity tracker in December and have increased my steps to about 10,000/day. I enjoy activities like rockclimbing, hiking, and cycling but my enjoyment of these activities has…
  • I'm in! SW - 232 CW - 224 GW - 170 GW for this challenge - 194 by 1/1/17 I think I can do this!
  • I've been on it 3 weeks so far. No miracles but I am certainly having an easier time sticking to my food plan. For example, I used to always have uncontrollable urges to eat when I got home from work. Now I sense the want but it is reduced enough that I don't give in to it. I've lost about 3.5 pounds following an 1800…
  • I got approval and have been taking for one week. I just bumped up to one pill twice daily yesterday. I am noticing a slight difference.
  • I want to be done with this final paper/presentation. NOW.
  • No. Pharmacist called me and said what is required is a letter from my doctor explaining why he prescribed this medication instead of one of the cheaper medications intended for weight loss. Ummm...maybe because it doesn't have addictive properties like the amphetamines or the side effects of topirimate. I'm prepared to…
  • Did you get approval? My doctor prescribed Contrave for me today an I am now waiting for approval. I'm assuming my insurance just needs to check with my MD to be sure I meet the BMI criteria.
  • I will add you. I started lifting in September but had to take it easy up top due to a shoulder injury that is finally starting to resolve. I love the body changes that I am feeling and seeing. I too would also like some lifting lady friends...especially those who are also trying to lose fat
  • In order to uncover my inner athlete.
  • Thanks Swimmy. Oh...I'm way beyond that. I had two surgeries and much PT for my ankle in the 2 years after my accident. I presently walk regularly; at least 2 miles most days. I can walk up to 5 miles on flat terrain before the ankle starts getting achy. (Prior to breaking my ankle I hiked long distances...12 miles was a…
  • I'm having a real challenge finding a good bra to start running with because of some rotator cuff (shoulder) issues. Yesterday I tried to try on a sports bra and got stuck. It was around my shoulders and I couldn't get it off without causing significant shoulder pain. I finally wiggled free but was real close to yelling…
  • I am trying to be wiser about it. Last night I received a very good grade on a final paper (masters degree) and really wanted to celebrate with a cocktail. I didn't. I'd rather save my drinking for the weekend with friends. I could never give up craft beers. I have discovered tho that the best tasting beers are the ones…
  • From over the summer. Along Schroon Lake, Adirondack Mountains, NY
  • I have the same problem and have been trying to "fix" it for a long time now. Habits such as these are hard wired and very difficult to break. Sometimes I will have success for a couple of months and then fall back into bad habits. I have had the best success with changing the stimulus i.e. eliminating the situations in…
  • Interesting. This is the first I have heard of this plan. Good work Shiny. Any other success story out there?
  • Hi. Just turned 42 here. Been doing MFP intermittently for several years. After a couple injuries, I now find myself at my heaviest weight ever. I'm in graduate school so I'm not sure how much I can commit to this thread but I sent a few friend requests out to those of you who seem similar to me. I think just having some…
  • I get numbness and tingling in my hands also and determined that it was ulnar nerve compression as opposed to carpal tunnel. I had a professional bike fitting in which my stem was shortened and my bars re-taped with thicker gel tape. I also started wearing gloves with gel padding. The numbness and tingling has improved but…
  • I think your arms look fine. As you continue to lose weight they'll shrink. Exercises that target the triceps will help. You are only 20 so your skin should firm up nicely. Congrats on your progress so far.
