Wow, what a journey! You’ve done it once you will certainly do it again. Sounds like you have a great support system at home (that’s like gold). Feel free to add me for mutual support if you’d like!

Wow, we sound alike. I joined in August 2011 and had great success (lost 27lbs), and like you ran my first 1/2 marathon in April 2012. Since then, I have been up and down - with the weight at least - and I notice it in my running my times are not getting any better, although I just ran my first full marathon May 2014 (not…

I have a pair of Ron Hill they are gloves but have a fold over protective cover (rain/snow/wind/), they are great for cold weather (I'm northern Ontario) but the outer layer can tuck under and be more suitable for milder winter runs.

I did C25K last fall - on the "rest" days do some cross training - swimming, walking, etc - when you get further along (I'm now training for a full marathon) the rest days are really important to repair and rest your muscles. You don't want to push it and hurt yourself.

I think you have to judge for yourself like most people have said. I myself don't include the burn from any activity that I do on a regular basis. So weekly/daily cleaning/laundry/cooking I never count, something like chopping wood out back(we have acreage)/snow shovelling or even window cleaning - stuff that I don't do…
