Thanks for that suggestion, that doesn't sound like something I'd try but, I'll definitely try and figure out some things to eat as I continue to do long runs.

Did just get tonight dough ice cream, will have to eat some tonight lol. Like the spoon and PB idea also
-
Country was a big help staying at a steady pace today, that was a great tip.

OK what do you do during your run for fuel? Also I ran 10 miles today. Burned lots of calories(1500) but struggling to eat all those back. Right now I'm only netting 100 calories with only 7 hours of daylight left. What can I eat to get my calories in? Don't think netting under 1k is a good idea
-
That's not really true, but I'm curious where you are getting your data from

Just ran my longest training run preparing for my first half, 10 miles. Gatorade drink and blocks kept me going. Nips a little sore but nothing else hurts. Noe no idea how I'm going to eat all these calories backback today
-
Yes. I can't see it either
-
Thanks

I tried this and liked it, I stopped for some reason but wouldn't mind doing it again. I'm really wanting to add strength(not buk) and since I can fit stronglift into my schedule, I have to find something at home. My question is are you really able to have good progress with this? I've never seen a single transformation…

OK so looking at the gym at my work, they have an optima series dual adjustable pulley system that does all kinds of exercises, and a life fitness thing that does chest press, inclince pressz and shoulder press. Also a leg press and leg extension machine. Any idea where I can find a good program that utilizes that…

I never thought about the speed of the song and speed running, makes sense
-
You haven't listened to country in a long time have you lol
-
Running without music seems impossible to me.
-
This IMO mine over estimates a little, so don't eat all of your exercise calories and you'll be ok
-
This I had 1 outside run before a 5k this year. Surprisingly the 1% inclince kept it a decent run but I dreaded every moment of it.
-
^ What they said. But why aren't you wearing it all the time?
-
Great job, I decided to do a half in may instead of the 10k, so I need to find that thread to see what advice you got. It'll be my first running, (i walked the st. Jude one a couple years ago) so completing without walking is my only goal, don't care about time.
-
Yeah it sucked for sure, needless to say I didn't do it regularly.
-
Thanks, I was shocked tbh
-
All winter on the treadmill I went at the same pace as I did outside (5.0 to 5.2 with 1% incline) My pace improved almost 10 minutes on my first outdoor 5k so I guess there is some merit to that thought.

Compared to my polar chest strap it was over by like 50/60 calories. But my strap is an older polar model so its possible the newer polars are more accurate? Its close enough for me to not deal with the strap anymore, especially since the strap always comes undone when I jog

Question about the empty stomach thing. What if its a longer run like 9 miles? Still nothing or eat something?
-
Thanks

I've seen 60 year olds running marathons

BTW, I've increased my carb intake and have noticed improvements in energy and on the scale. Thanks for the advice. See @lishie_rebooted, I listen to advice.
-
After a run, eat a high protein/carb meal? What do people typically eat? I had bagel, eggs, and turkey sausage. Oh, and milk.
-
I just started in the fall at 37, im 38 now. Its definitely not old. Today I went to run and only planned on going at the most 5 miles, I ended up doing 6(could have gone longer if that 6 wasn't at the top of a hill lol). I think I'm ready for my first 10k next month.

In my experience mapmywalk is not very accurate for both distance and calorie burn. Runkeeper was very accurate (even when compared with a GPS watch). But you should be able to edit the calories that mapmywalk puts into mfp, I know I'm able to for runkeeper.

I've never seen anyone at the gym with see through pants, so they must exist
