  • Hi Ladies Can I join you? I'm rejoining MFP after a long break. I think this daily commitment thread sounds great, so here goes: 1. Log accurately 2. Walk dogs for longer - at least 45 minutes 3. No snacking after dinner 4. Eat within an 11am- 7pm window 5. Stick to calorie goal 6. Plan next days meals.
  • My husband is also overweight. He sits in front of the TV eating rubbish, buys food that I think is unhealthy. I have tried but I have given up. I just ask him not to buy stuff I like as I will eat it. At the end of the day, we have to paddle our own canoe. He does go to the gym at least but not enough care about what he…
  • Brisbane here. The best place to Live :D
  • I’ve been doing IF for a few days. So far I can’t get under the 16/8 but I’m working on it. I tried keto but in all honesty, it really messed up my energy levels. I go cycling and I just find I need the carbs, even after weeks of keto. Having said that, I still avoid bread, potatoes and heavy carbs.
  • Hi Hi Guys I thought you were women at first. It always seems like we are the only ones try to lose fat. I started IF a few days ago after listening to a podcast on the benefits of it. I am 61. So far I haven’t managed more than an 8 hour window but hoping when I return to work that I could get down to maybe 2pm to 7pm. So…
  • Coffee and cream is my breakfast on keto. Devine
  • I agree with you all. I don’t tell people because they just don’t get it. @elisabel , I can tell you that I did what you did and transitioned slowly, by the time my Ketostix showed a change, I was so energetic, I just couldn’t stop. My mental clarity at work was amazing. I think that is what speed must feel like. I just…
  • Good on you Dani. I'm kicking *kitten* as well. You know that "endless energy" they talk of, well I have it. My house has never been cleaner, my work has never been so up to date and I'm climbing the walls. And I'm sleeping well. I was on Nexium for reflux for 25 years, I'm off it now. Wow! I have been on anti depressants…
  • Hey Keto Pals I feel like I am part of a secret club. We know how good this keto is but can't really share it out in the world. Or if I try to people turn off or say I'm nuts or something. I am going amazingly well since going on keto. It was a long process to get there, and even some doubts along the way. Man, I just look…
  • You look lovely Tammie. You are my vintage. I thought your before pic looked pretty good too! Congratulations
  • Well my Ketostix finally show a mild ketosis. Yay! I got serious about reducing the carbs in the last few days. Cheese and almond butter are my addiction. Believe me, they go well together. I also did a 1.5 hour bike ride and some heavy gardening work. I don’t feel the increased energy yet. In fact, the bike ride was hard…
  • Starting weight: 79kgs Goal: 65kgs Last weight: 77.1kgs This week: 75.8kgs This week: Loss 1.3kg (actually for month of March) Total loss for March: 1.3kg YTD loss: 3.2kgs This week's successes: I am sticking with low carb and finding it is working well. Continued centimeter loss and now I have a scale weight to boast as…
  • Try to stick to meat and salad and non starchy veg, eggs for breakfast. I have been known to go to the supermarket and buy ham, twiggy sticks, cheese, olives from the deli just to keep me going when I’m working away from home. You will feel better if you can stick to it but if you don’t just enjoy and start again.
  • I haven’t put my weight down here for a couple of weeks now. I am amazed at how much I’ve lost in centimetres but the scale remains the same. I am doing weights a couple of times a week, cycling a couple of times and walking every day. I have gone down a complete size since January but we not about 2kgs down. Still I’m…
  • I went for a 2 hour bike ride yesterday. My motivation was to get tipped over in to keto. Well, it didn’t happen. :s I think I’m going to have to be far more discerning about fibre, net carbs, protein as I think I am still eating too many.
  • Sally Ann, I use Ketostix from the pharmacy. Not fancy but do the job.
  • There are advantages in getting older. TOM is so foreign to me now. :)
  • I don’t know if anyone has mentioned good podcasts. I like listening to 2keto dudes. I used to listen to Jimmy Moore but I just didn’t get it. I started eating lovely things made with xylitol, cream cheese, almond flour, almond butter and guess what? I didn’t lose a darn thing. The truth is that it doesn’t matter what WOE…
  • :# Wow kstaines that is just amazing. I would like to friend you and check out your diary for some ideas. I’m not in ketosis and I think I’m eating too much protein and Quest bars >:) I feel great and that is a good nsv.
  • I am finding that I'm not getting those crazy cravings for carbs. I haven't eating a chocolate, chips or any junk since January. I feel like I am over it, but like an addict, I am worry that one slip up may send me on the slippery slope.
  • Starting weight: 79kgs Goal: 65kgs Last weeks weight: 77.1kgs This week: 76.6kgs This week: Loss .5kg Total loss for March .5kgs YTD loss: 2.4kgs Last weeks success: Finding on low carb that my hunger is under control. Last weeks challenges: Went away for the weekend. Managed to keep up the good work without too much…
  • I just spent a long weekend away and I managed to stay with low carb if not in keto. It wasn’t hard at all. I mean, cheese , salami, that’s my kind of snack ;)
  • Maybe get the Ketostix and measure your urine. I’m not in ketosis yet but my fault, still too many carbs, but I feel great.
  • Hi Ketoers After a rather crap day yesterday, I went so well today. I cooked a couple of boiled eggs at work and they kept me satisfied all day. I then cooked a beautiful steak with mushrooms and cream and a garden salad. Delightful and only 11grams of carbs. I hope every day is as good as this one.
  • I hear you. Getting the fat without the protein is very hard. I find I’m consuming way too many nuts. I lost 8.5kgs following the CICO model on MFP but stalled for 3 months. I’m giving keto a good go at least for the next 6 weeks to shift the last of my weight. Best of luck
  • If you just Google “keto calculator” there are several choices One is perfect keto.com. I know my lean body mass and the calculations are exact. Or just 1 to 1.5 grams per kilo of lean body mass for protein, carbs you know are under 20grams and fat to satiety. I struggle with that one!
  • I am the same as you. I’m feeling very lethargic but keto strips don’t show any success yet. I’m willing to give this my very best effort.
  • I have been on keto years ago and the weight fell off me. Right now after 2 days of serious keto I’m feeling lethargic and have the blahs. I have subscribed to the 2 keto dudes podcast. I find them very entertaining. I thought that I really should bite the bullet after my weight loss stalled on the old CICO method. Can’t…
  • Congratulations, you have done really well.
  • Starting weight: 79kgs Goal: 65kgs Last weeks weight: 77.1kgs This week: 77.1kgs This week: Loss 0kg Total loss for February: 1.4kg YTD loss: 1.9kgs This week's successes: I have really made such an effort. My weight hasn't changed, but my measurements have. My waistline is down about 3cm, my arms and thighs down 1/2 cm.…
