I am 64 and I was a Type II Diabetic, taking multiple insulin shots a day as well as oral medication. As of about 2 weeks ago I am totally free of it as well as the meds for high blood pressure and cholesterol. What I did was a variation of the Paleo diet. As of yesterday I've lost 81 pounds, that's been since I started…

Count all your small successes and they amount to a huge success. That's great to hear your news!

I went 531 calories over my daily 1.200 limit. It was the 2 slices of Pumpkin Praline Cheesecake that did me in. And I have to say it was worth every bite! Yummy!

I'm 5'7", 64 yrs old and started MFP in mid June of this year. My starting weight was 313, a few weeks ago weighing in at the Dr's I was 72 lbs. lighter. I'm scheduled to see him again in another 2 weeks and I know I'll have lost at least a total of 80. I want my goal weight to be around 135 lbs. I've got a long way to go,…

For me it was 30 lbs. and the comments came from co-workers. I hadn't told anyone I started "another" diet because of all my past failures - and there were more than I can count. Now that I'm close to an 80 lb. loss (I only get weighed by my Dr. once a month) I feel like I'm in the spotlight. So many comments and questions…

I only get weighed once a month at my physicians office. I'm a scaleaolic so I had to get rid of it. Anyway, I had my lab work done today and will see the Doctor on Friday. I'm hoping to report good news.

I'm a scale-aholic. I've been on so many diets, with out success, that I've lost count. This time my first thought, after making the decision to lose weight, was "what is it that I've been doing that caused me to fail before?". Bingo! That damn scale. I bet I weighed myself a dozen or so times a day. Crazy? Most…

I think I goofed up on my post. I was responding to SaintGiff's comment.

Your post is spot on. I like it and agree with you. Took me probably a hundred restarts until something clicked in my head and now it doesn't matter who or what's going on. I'm not giving up and I'm determined to get my life back.

Well, mine aren't from today but, I'm going to share anyway. Last week when I arrived at work there were balloons and flowers at my desk from my co-workers. They were congratulating me on my weight loss. This week I found out the sneeky boogers have a pool going on my weight loss. My next weigh in is this next Thursday at…

I have a friend who has recovered from the "C word", gained a lot of weight and was unfit as well. She eats sensibly by avoiding processed sugar, all grains, legumes and milk and soy products. Her diet consists of lots of fresh fruits and veggies, poultry, fish and meat (non processed like some of the sausages out there -…

I weigh just once a month at the doctor's office. My next weigh in is next Thursday and I'm excited. My coworkers have a pool going on how much weight I've lost since last month. I cracked up when I heard about it yesterday. I think I'm doing pretty well. I'll get back to you on Thursday next.:)

All I can say is WOW!!!!!

I lost 44 lbs in my first 7 weeks. I've cut out all grains, legumes, refined sugars, and dairy products except a wee bit of butter now and then. I stay just at or below 1,200 calories each day. By cutting down drastically on the carbs I've lost my cravings and don't feel deprived. My snack is usually almonds or cashews.…

After not seeing my ex-husband in years, the first thing out of his mouth was "Since when did you become a sumo wrestler". Wow, did that hurt!
