How many carbs do you eat per day?

LOL Just bump your protein way up and try not to eat stupid carbs like sugars and white bread. Food is fuel. Your tank might hold 15 gallons but if you are sticking 15 gallons of milk shake in your car, you will not get very far. People make this far too complicated. Don't eat stupid things you know don't have what you need in them, do save your calories for things that will help you feel full and give you long lasting energy.
^^this^^ Yes, if you stick 15 gallons of milkshake in your car it would be stupid. We could probably simplify foods and not call them stupid?0 -
BTW, I absolutely *love* the car/human analogy...
...and by "love", I actually mean, "deplore".0 -

Yes, but think of the cows(they'll feel utterly terrible); and the fuel you'd save, and your carbon footprint. . .and yep, I think the analogy is pretty lame, but not stupid. Save stupid for sugar and bread....0

Averaging about 375g/day lately. I love them.0
-
75 or less most days, about 300 once or twice a week0
-
75-100 a day. Maybe 3 times a month 150ish.
Female, age 55, light exercise.0 -
150 or less
Some days I will eat high protein and have salads but be < 100 grams0 -
Less than 50, I think I was under 20 today, while eating cheese cake and other yummy stuff.0
-
Was the cheesecake portion extremely small? Cream cheese on its own is like 1g carb to 1g protein. Adding in sugar and the graham crackers will make it very carby.
Anyway, I currently eat between 100g-150g of carbs a day. This is about as low as I can get it without cutting out fruit and vegetables.0 -
To lose weight? Anything up to 500 carbs (since weight loss has more to do with calories than carbs). How much I realistically consume? Usually 100-250 depending on what I feel like eating that day. Anything under 100 elevates my blood sugar (weird, I know)0
-
If you exercise, then you can eat more carbs, but you probably should eat less carbs on the days you are not very active.
ETA : This is strictly my opinion!
That sounds good to me. I also try to eat more protein on the days I exercise.0 -
100 - 150g most days.0

Probably 50-100g on a non-training day. Maybe 250-300g on a training day?
I aim for the lower end of the former and the upper of the latter, but real life often dictates differently (or I'm just crap at judging my macros...)
Protein high on all days though.0 -
Oh god. Who cares? I'm not counting and it doesn't affect my weight.0

It really only matters if you are doing some kind of training that carbs will help with. If they are irrelevant to you and you're seeing great success doing what you are doing, then keep doing it!0 -
i eat no more than 135 according to my nutritionist but as i keep track im usually between 80-100g / day. I keep at high protein and high GOOD fats - nuts, avocado, cheese etc. Thats mainly for the calories otherwise i would be at like 800 cal because of the amount of carbs I have cut. The main reason for this is that I am prediabetic and diabetes runs heavily in my family. so in order to lose weight, i have to cut carbs significantly. before i was eating WITH a significant calorie deficit but with 250 g carbs, and lost NO WEIGHt even with 5-6 hours of hard kickboxing and high intensity working out every week. but now i am easily losing 2 pounds a week. so it does matter for prediabetics / diabetics what your calories look like. its not enough to just have less calories.0
-
I eat a minimum of 80 and a maximum of 250 because anything outside this range adversely affects my blood sugar.0
-
I have 60-130g but no more than 45g in one meal as my blood glucose spikes too high. I still lose weight even if I have 120-130g...and barely just keep my BG under control. I prefer to stick under 100g a day to keep the weight reduction going and the BG ok.0

It depends on the day. If I eat a lot of fruit I am way over.0

between 80-200 most days.
I don't strive for low carb. In fact, I lost over 100 lb (since 2008) before ever counting a single carb.
I have only recently changed my food diary to include carbs, and did that out of curiosity more than anything. When I first started using this website in March 2013, I was so annoyed and fed up with friends' *constant* obsessing re: carbs that I immediately changed my settings to track fiber instead of carbohydrates.0 -
That's fantastic that so many people are losing weight while still maintaining a high carb diet, 80-250 is high carbs. I personally can't. Me personally I stick to <80 a day. I start the day with 1/2 cup, dry oatmeal, 6 eggs, 2 tbsp of olive oil poured on top. That's right at 30 carbs, (26 for the oatmeal, 4 for the eggs.) Then for lunch I have a nice Kale salad with a can of tuna, 2 tbsp of olive oil and 2 tbsp homemade ranch. Kale has no carbs, 2 tbsp of ranch has 4 carbs, a tomato has 5 carbs. So it's about 12 carbs. For a treat later in the day I'll have 2 tbsp of peanut butter and 5 M&M, and a whole tomato covered in 2 tbsp olive oil with tons of salt, about 16 carbs. So now we have about 20 carbs to deal with and I'll find something around 20 carbs, a tomato with a sliced green pepper and a steak. That's me though.
We need to remember here in the states that we don't have net carbs, we have total carbs. To calculate net carbs you need to minus fiber from total carbs.
So, if something had 8 carbs and 2 fiber, the net carbs will be 6.0 -
When I was really cutting I was at 75g or less. Now I'm at 240+.0

I'm type 2 Diabetic as well and keep my carbs at 50 or lower. Feeling great, stopped taking the insulin 3 x's a day. Life is good!0
-
Over the past 28 days, I averaged 91g carbs/day. I also average about 29g fiber over that time, which takes me down to 62 net carbs.
I shoot for a MINIMUM of 120g protein, 50g fat and anything else is carbs.0 -
I have about 315g a day. I'd say it's high because I'm vegan and most of what I eat is carbs.0
-
I've got my carbs set at 100g per day. But in the last week or so, I have been really focused on keeping them down low (netting around 50 per day) and I was finally nudged out of my plateau and am again losing weight. So, for now, this works for me.
Everybody is different though. That is part of what makes weight loss a journey....as we go along we learn new things and figure out what works best for each of us.0 -
