Yep I exercise every day. I never used to up until about 5 weeks ago, almost completely stalled on my weight loss for weeks even though I was still in the same deficit as always, and it's only just started to come off a few days ago but it's coming off at quite a quick rate so I guess it's all linked.
-
Ahh, clever. Thanks, it's always good to know exactly why!
-
I can't find much out about it but from what I've read it's possibly the fat cells breaking down at uneven rates giving the impression of lumps or balls.. Can anybody else confirm that?

If you're hungry then you're setting yourself up for failure. I'm on 1,200 calories a day which is disputed a lot, but even I know that is the absolute bare minimum without any exercise, and if I'm hungry then I eat. I do understand your frustration though. I'm used to seeing daily changes on the scales, only little ones,…

I was a heavy/loud snorer, now my partner can't remember the last time he heard me!
-
Right, got it. So it's better to just not log the steps unless it's a worthy amount eg over 10,000 steps? And definitely not to eat back any of them calories if it's not a considerable amount?
-
Surely there would be a difference from standing still and walking though? If I was on the treadmill at the gym and walked 5000 steps it definitely wouldn't read as zero calories burned?
-
I'll go to the gym 4/5 times a week. Half hour on cardio, half hour on weights. Swimming once or twice a week and on days off from the gym I'll do an hour of mild cardio for an hour. Plus, I'm a dog walker so I'm walking for at least a couple of hours a day. I work out my calories just from what I can. At the gym it's the…

23.. With very few similar aged friends on MFP so would be nice to have a few more!

I've lost about 25lbs and genuinely can't see any difference. I live in leggings so they're not obviously loose as they're stretchy. But quite a lot of people have noticed, or given other compliments.

This went through my mind too. I do fluctuate but surely if that made a difference so many diets would be wrong. Say someone wants to eat 1000 calories every day but 2,500 on the weekends. That's a huge fluctuation but they wouldn't put on weight from that if they were still in deficit would they? I'll only burn 200-300…

I do log and weigh accurately. Admittedly I had a binge the other day, went over by 1000 calories but it's my first "unplanned" hiccup. I have also recently started eating back my gym calories as I'm on a (temporary) 1,200 a day plan and after a couple of weeks I started feeling really hungry in between meals so decided to…

Errrm.. Well I thought that it was usual to put on weight in fluid when you first started exercising? Or am I wrong?
-
Lol sorry I don't know the actual name but the fluid the builds up when you're new to working out... Right!?
-
Does that face mean I need to wait longer to see results?! I know it might not seem like a long time but I was used to seeing tiny differences on the scales every day, so it seems like a long time!
-
And also groups like weight watchers etc where you have syns or points and complicate thing? And how do certain diets have "free foods" where you can eat as much fruit and veg as you want? Surely if you're going in to surplus with these "free foods" you're still going to put on weight?
-
I know I shouldn't but seriously, when you're with 4 friends who look pristine and you're the one who looks like you've been in a boiling hot shower for the last hour you can't help but feel it! And yes I have only just started working out! Well, about 2 weeks ago, been at the gym every day. Hopefully it'll pass in time…

I know people won't like this, but I was loosing 4lb+ a week, the key word being WAS. Actually it was more like 6lb a week for the first month. I ate (and still am) on 1,200 but believe me, I didn't and don't starve myself. I eat either 3 big meals a day, or 2 with plenty of snacks. I'm also a veggie going on vegan so…

I'm doing it morally so it definitely not on a whim. I've been veggie for 6 years and actually put on weight when I did it so definitely not going vegan just to loose weight. It's coming off easily enough! I've heard so many mixed reviews about multi vitamins and it's kind of put me off them. I'm only going to be on a…

Ugh I have huge hips too! First tip is spanx! They'll bring you more in to proportion and, of course, make you look slimmer. If you're not comfortable in tight fitting clothes then go for something that is fitted around the bust and then flows down. I always add a chunky belt right under my bust and then a loose open front…

You're right, I have no plan or routine whatsoever apart from what I said before - 25 mins cardio and 35 on weights. I'll do what I think is a good mix on the weight machines in terms of different muscle groups. My partner has a routine but I don't think I could spend half an hour just on my biceps, or just on one or two…
-
Sounds really stupid now, but I didn't really think of doing both! I think I'll do that and alternate days. Thanks
-
Sorry, I just meant toning my body but thank you. I was told that when you work out a muscle it will start to burn the layer of fat on top of it so I didn't know if lifting heavy but shorter would be more efficient in doing this. I'm at deficit though, so I guess it's just more of a waiting game!
-
It's always the last thing I do. I'm self employed (dog walker) so if I have a rare day of I'll probably go in the morning. If not then it's whenever I finish work as the last thing I want to do when I come out the gym shattered and sweaty is take a group of boisterous and usually noisy dogs out!
-
Honestly, try it! It's mainly a cheesy taste but slightly nutty too. It comes in a big pot and is the texture of fish food (I promise it's so much nicer than it sounds!). You can use it in the same way you use salt - so everything! Or I'll add it to sauces/casseroles/hummus/sandwiches/soups.. Literally everything! Holland…

I have no idea about spinning, but from asking similar questions myself I discovered that aching afterwards isn't actually a sign of anything. I think it's called delayed onset muscle soreness (?! Or something along them lines). Some people suffer with it more than others but generally when you're muscle hasn't been worked…

Lots of people lack in b12, meat eater or not. It comes from soil, but the quality of soil is becoming very poor so it's resulting in lots of b12 deficiencies. For vegans, nutritional yeast has b12 and tastes amazing. I love it!

Ugh me too! Every fat person I see on tv with their clothes off, they just seem to look fine! Like you say, even if they're much bigger than me, their bodies look so much better, all filled out. I wouldn't have been half as bothered if that was my case! Although, I did always think that because I'm not "filled out" with…
