Great work, everyone! A very inspirational thread! Here's mine. Still more work to do, though.

While removing the pin to change the weight on a stack of plates, I forgot that the bar connected to the cable was heavier than the lightest plate. The bar came down and I took a thump to the head. I also managed to get distracted and caught my fingers beneath a dumbbell that I was re-racking. Not fun, but it happens.

A great story, well illustrated. Congratulations on the lifestyle change!

Once or twice a month, usually on a Saturday, after my workout. A little more if I'm doing a personal challenge. I started focusing more on the inches and less on the pounds. Took a bunch of stress away.

280+ lbs.

Nice work, everyone. Very inspiring!

I do better when I plan my meals. My plans are not particularly strict, but they usually keep me from doing fast food and extra snacks.

Congrats! I discovered the same thing: Weight lifting makes a huge difference!

It's an up and down battle. Stick with it!

Congratulations! That's a great accomplishment!

I guess I just think gym etiquette (or simply be considerate to others) is important. Someone else may have wanted to use the equipment, but may have been hesitant to ask.

I've almost always used gloves when I lift. The exception being during basic training. I haven't had any problems using them and they cut down on the blisters and calluses.

Don't be fooled! The ladies gawk, ogle, stare, comment, etc.!

Not necessarily looking for it, but appreciating it when it happens. It's one more confirmation that I'm on the right track with my fitness plan. But, I don't think that the attention comes just from the weight loss/body shaping. As your confidence grows, so does your swag, which is definitely attractive.

From earlier this year. Still a work in progress.

In case you look at this thread again, here are my weigh-ins since September 2013.

Don't throw in the towel. We all stall, or even reverse, as we go through the process. Maybe try setting some small, short term goals and focus on them,

Arms and back!

Some of the workout pants that I bought to replace my old, too large workout pants, are too becoming too large!

I really dislike the scale. I find the up and down to be a de-motivator. I much prefer to measure my progress by how my clothes fit. I've been weighing in monthly. The losses feel bigger and I feel less stress.

My rule of thumb for my diet is "Moderation, not deprivation." I still eat pretty much what I like, just less of the really high calorie foods. The weight hasn't come off quickly, but it is coming off steadily.

Went to buy a suit to wear to a wedding. The regular suits didn't fit well. I had to buy an athletic fit!

Start and recent.

Impressive! Nice work!

I'm new to the site. I'm getting back into shape (again!). Feel free to add me. I've been blogging about my current fitness journey since October of 2013 (Vaporizing the Pounds - http://vaporizingpounds.blogspot.com/)

Done. I'm new to the site. Feel free to add me as well.

I'm 5'10". Current weight is 228 lbs, down from 271 lbs. I'm looking to get under 200 lbs, then I'll reassess. I like having some size, but the goal is for that size to come mostly from muscle.

Getting on the scale and noticing that 300 lbs was not that far away! Thankfully, that was 42 lbs ago.
