I ride my motorcycle for 45 mins in the morning to work and somehow it registers 30 flights of stairs and over 2k steps. Motorcycling seems to be the easy way to fitness. I wish.

Trillium Fort Point Ale. High calories so it is a cheat day. But so worth it.

do a google search and you will see some you tube videos...make sure you look at the ones that talk about doing them safely so you avoid an injury.

I like what Johnny said. The other thing to consider is that yo do have control over this is you want it. I am choosing to control my eating and dieting habits now while I can. I just had a friend's wife have a heart attack and die at 52, my age. If you don't take care of yourself now, you can get to the point of no…

TD Nation is a 90 day fitness group on facebook. It is free and works in conjunction with this app to help you in terms of coaching and support. Contact thegreatcanook on here for further info on joining this awesome support group. Free, and most people on there belong to this site...that's where how I found it. Lot's of…

AZLisaLou is right. The 1200 calorie benchmark they give on this site is too low, causing you to underload your calories and your body to slow its metabolic rate, reducing weight loss. I would bump your cals up to 1400 and maintain your exercise. Don't eat back the calories from exercise. This keep you way below the…

I log my meals every day after the meal is complete, usually. With the access to this app via computer or mobile device, it is pretty easy to do and is less confusing if you do it right away. In addition, if you do it as you go you can get an idea of the direction your macros are going in and adjust later meals to…

Hi...you have had some pretty serious and traumatic experiences in your life yet seem to have come out OK despite it all. You are strong person to come through all that as well as you have and still strive on. Kudos to you! Don't let a day in the dumps get you...work through it...I use exercise to help manage stress (and…

I don't understand the potassium thing. I thought my Dad was on a low potassium diet because of his end stage renal failure condition? Am I wrong? He's in the hospital now, and might not make it out. He's been getting dialysis for 4 years. He is suffering from his condition, and complains about always getting the same food…

Thanks everyone...I was just hoping to see it lessen over the past two months of exercise and diet watching...it doesn't seem to be changing at all. Trying to preserve my kidneys. I have a wrist cuff at home that is fairly accurate. I'm going to start checking it 2x daily, in the morning and evening...

The trick I am finding (on month 3) is slowly changing bad habits, moderation, and thinking things through in terms of how your habits and behaviors impact your long term goals. I am no means perfect. Despite eating fairly well, meeting calorie objectives on most days, and regular exercising commitments, I occasionally…

Like everyone says...see your doctor and I would recommend right away. It could be a very serious condition and they symptoms are telling you to get it checked before something tragic happens. These symptoms are worrisome to me...please get looked at...

I'm always looking for new people to share the experiences...both ups and down. It helps us all feel like we are not alone and we have similar experiences to go with the similar goals...add me if you read this and want to share the journey. Mike

Welcome Aboard this new chapter of your life. Be determined and you'll reach your goals. Feel free to add me, I login each day and have an open food log...good luck...remember, we make our own luck... Mike

I go with oatmeal and green tea for breakfast...seems to hold me until about 10 o'clock and I then will have a fruit snack...like half an apple or something to get me to lunch. Today I had a shake in the morning to get me there but I wanted the protein for my lunchtime hike. There's also a new protein Cheerios out if you…

watch extreme weight loss on tv or netflix and you will get inspired by people with not only weight challenges but personal ones as well...makes you realize that if they could do it, so can you...but you gotta just do it and stop making excuses...

How much sodium?

Feel free to add me but I like to harass people that don't logon for awhile to make sure they didn't fall off the wagon...just saying.

Ironically Davita is where my Dad goes for dialysis. They treat people like cattle in there...just move em in and move em out, like cows on milking machines. I'm waiting for a disaster to happen where they didn't clean the machines well enough. Anyway, dialysis is not for me. If I follow dad's footsteps I will not be doing…

THANK YOU ALL. In general, I have been doing very well with minimizing sodium intake, but it is when I find low calorie recipes, specifically on this site and others, that do not provide the sodium amount and when I punch the whole recipe into this MFP site, the sodium is way out of limits, I want to scream. I find that…

Feel free to add me...diary is open and I log on regularly. Never can have too much support. Warning...I like to bug people that don't log on asking them where they are hiding... Mike

Would have been nice if the sodium wasn't thru the roof per serving. I need low sodium recipes...over 4100 mg per serving of sodium (per cup)? Looks like a soup made for those with low blood pressure

This is correct. I have had a 401k for years and most options have fees associated with them. Even some of my index funds have fees associated, but they are always less than other types of stocks/funds. I have never heard of a free 401k. You know Wall Street wouldn't let that happen. I would roll into an IRA and select…

I'm 5'4" and have lost almost 10 pounds in the last 4 weeks or so. 150 is my goal weight as well, which still exceeds recommended BMI but if I was 150 I would be back where I was in my late 20's so that has to be good!
-
I just started but have been doing exercise and reduced calories from the start. I'm on the 1200 cal plan, so if I don't exercise and just eat that number of calories I'm pretty much guaranteed to be hungry at least part of the time. By burning up calories I can replace them and keep the hunger away, focusing on protein…

Me too. Been here 2 weeks and the calorie/meal log is a god send. Already lost over 2 pounds. The first two weeks it was about controlling hunger and staying motivated to exercise. I hope it is like quitting smoking where the first 2 weeks are the most difficult. I'm reaching out wherever I can to stay on track. Good luck!

YES CARNIVALE!! I wanted to boycott HBO after they dropped that show...especially since I bought the first season on DVD because I loved it so much! Now I don't have any cable channels...got sick of the bill...I stream everything on NetFlix which saves me money, electricity and doesn't distract me from exercising. Of…
