I personally have not taken it but my best friend did. She had the bad "leakage" side effect that is listed. So basically if you take it and happen to eat something that has ahigher fat content, it does what it is intended for. It blocks the absortion of the fat. For me, it doesn't matter how many calories in/out. I have to watch the carb=sugar count. That's where my weight comes from. Remember all carbs turn into sugar no matter what type they are.

I have lumbar problems too. DDD and annular tears at L4 and 5. I can't run/jog for that reason. I get on the elliptical and get after it. I get my heart rate up just like I would with running but no pounding and no pain. This is what works for me but everybody is different. Good luck.
