Sorry for the confusion! I "stop" to walk for about a minute or so every 3 miles during my long runs to eat one of those power gel things and drink water, then I run on. My short term goal is a half marathon as well! Distance for the time being, when I'm able to run the 13.1 distance, I want to work on speed. I love the…

Hopefully I'll be running further/faster by then....Wanna make my mile 9 minutes ish and/or be able to run 5-7 miles without stopping. Increasing both slowly but surely. Maybe lose 5 pounds of chubs, gain some muscle? I don't really have a specific weight goal anymore, I just know I want my tummy pooch gone and the rest of…

I have a Polar FT4...I'd say HRM are pretty accurate. HRMs take your height, weight, age, and heart rate in order to calculate your calories burned...that combo makes for a good reading.

Honestly, you want to avoid medication as much as possible. I went to therapy for a long time to learn how to overcome my anxiety and depression. Still get episodes from time to time, but I deal much better. Therapy is awesome and exercise, like everyone else said is fantastic for reducing stress. So are other hobbies you…

I've been to a dietician. I felt like I was in grade school and she was giving me the old "5 servings of grain, 3 fruits, etc" That's literally what she told me. And she said I shouldn't even worry about my weight. :grumble: She mentioned nothing of calories. It was very uninformative, but I probably just got a bad…

Started running. Cut out pop. Started tracking what I ate. Then I actually changed my diet and exercised consistently.

It DOES work. lol 1. Always hungry? Eat foods that are more filling. Proteins and fibers. Example. A whole cup of broccoli is 30-40 calories. Chicken. Whole grains. Go for gold. 2. If if goes into your mouth, track it. :blushing: 3. Do your homework. Calculations. Look up "In Place of a Road Map" on here. That will help.…
