  • Using FT4 from August, reliably lost goal of 1 lb a week. Eaten exercise calories back. Always counted up to 100 under each day, to cover milk I can't be bothered to track. In all this time, am only about 3-4 lbs heavier than expected (often sedentary/a lot of ill health may be reason), so I've experienced the Polar to be…
  • Thanks about this; bookmarked!
  • Are a little smaller in the band, a little moreso than the La Isla, which has thick ribbed band (a little more give), so definitely need to buy a larger size.
  • Can recommend Polar HRM eg FT4, FT60, V800, so you know exactly what you are burning off.
  • For UK, I can recommend Glamorise 1066 and La Isla Women's High Impact Wire Free Non Padded Powerful Seam Free Sports Bra. Normally 40C ... 42D in both of these bras. Some tightness, but very secure, well made, and La Isla has great colours.
  • Polar V800 tracks 24/7, and very accurate.
  • Got answer ... setting FT60 to record workout first means it picks up on the GymLink sensor, then set V800 to record workout; as it's already paired, it will automatically do as it normally does.
  • Hi Elanca. May I ask if you're referring to wearing 2 devices at once, paired using the one v800 strap? I'm trying to find out if I can simultaneously wear V800 and FT60 (don't own latter yet, but really want to use the STAR program). 99% indoor training, don't know the right details to input for self-created V800 training…
  • I had issues using Firefox when trying to use Asda site. Haven't tried via Opera, but worth a try. Got so frustrated trying to use Asda site, I'm now with Tesco and very happy, lol.
  • Make sure you run the rubber back of the strap under water, then towel dry, each time after use. Otherwise, I'd agree about checking or changing the battery.
  • Polar FT4 is great, as is the V800.
  • Strapless Fitbit Surge isn't presently good for HiiT or weight training, and not fully waterproof (just had to sell it on, with these details in the advert). Used Polar FT4 before that, and always reliable. The Polar V800 I've got now is brilliant. Heart strap, but softer. Would recommend trying to get away with the strap,…
  • There's 'free multisport' setting on Polar V800, where you can choose from profiles you've chosen online (and then synced to the Polar), and just press the start button to choose the next profile each time.
  • FT4 is brilliant, and waiting for V800 to arrive. Looking forward to taking things up a notch.
  • You'd find your mood would really lift through lifting weights, and eating more protein (thus not the misery of being hungry and feeling you're going without all the time). If it's miserable going to a gym, get your own home gym and an exercise bike, put some great music or telly on, and have fun with it! Or go to the gym…
  • If he was so unsympathetic as to previously say 'just throw it up later', I'd really not worry. He's been tormenting you, it was a perfectly obvious conclusion to jump to, and I think it probably was him. If he's the nice guy he's making out he is, he will be fine about it. I think you're giving yourself too hard a time,…
  • Week # 4 – September 22 - 28 Goal 180 minutes: Mon: 50 minutes flexibility/cardio/weights Tue: Wed: 42 minutes flexibility/cardio/weights Thurs: Fri: 49 minutes weights Sat: Sun: TOTAL MINUTES: 141 so far, 39 to go
  • Great thread. Week # 4 – September 22 - 28 Goal 180 minutes: Mon: 50 minutes flexibility/cardio/weights Tue: Wed: 42 minutes flexibility/cardio/weights Thurs: Fri: Sat: Sun: TOTAL MINUTES: 92 so far, 88 to go :drinker:
  • Entirely agree ... I have chronic pain, hip arthritis, yet power on with stretches, seated weights, cardio, etc ... not doing anything just makes any injuries or pain worse. You can always adapt things and move in some way, even if you have to go at a slower pace ... plus it's very empowering, even if painkillers need…
  • All fours, left arm out front, right leg out back, and visa versa. :drinker: And lat bar for shoulders/back.
  • Face, as you can work to make your body hot as you like, but changing the face could be painful and expensive, and weird. :drinker:
  • Wow, inspiring reading everything you did. Can bet that was a lot of fun, beyond any aches and pains. And great about the muscles too! And it's amazing how adapting and learning from injuries, or illness, brings up new solutions and achievement. The back's so central, core strength ... I know I couldn't get into downward…
  • Thanks. I think it's going to be a balancing job of being out of pain enough to exercise, get some benefit from that, and reduce painkillers steadily. Certainly makes for interesting research; learning a lot! :drinker:
  • Lol! Having a good dance to this should certainly get the burn going!
  • Thanks. ???? And I entirely agree about the 'sore', lol. You must have worked really hard to need 3 days recovery. Great explanation, and now I'm wondering what's best; pondering needed. Remembering the Krypton Factor, lol. It had never crossed my mind about ointments; great idea. I'm having to take pills across the full…
  • Hiya h7463! Thanks so much for reassurance, and glad to hear things improved for you. Yes, it's frustrating having to rest, but I'm finding tracking, drinking water, eating right etc is keeping me 'in the zone', while gently stretching out my muscles a lot. Yes, it's ibuprofen I'm taking, and your advice is really…
  • I hadn't been doing any, tbh, but basically just some all over stretches eg hamstring, shoulders, side bends, touch toes, things like that, and the gentler yoga would be via Lynn Marshall's 'wake up to yoga', which is what worked so well when I did yoga before. The book's just a few pounds on Amazon, and practicing daily…
  • Thanks for explaining more about it. Interesting to learn more.
  • 3 weeks in, I just add any chocolate into daily calories, making sure I work out plenty in the week and munch up those calories too. Also, I can recommend yoga ... over the first few weeks, you gradually find you want different foods, have loads more energy, are a lot more flexible. I did yoga back when I was 17, just…
  • Some ideas might be eating wholemeal eg pitta bread (very filling) and protein shake (curbs appetite). Also, I'd add a full bar of chocolate each day into your calorie amount, even 100g sometimes, so you know you're not being deprived at all, and really eat it slowly and enjoy it fully. Mint ice cream cone at 187 cals…
