Yes, this is very true! The wrong brand can totally make a type of food a real turn off! I'm willing to try another brand.
-
Yes, yes, yes to all of this!! Thank you so much for your response. That is exactly what I want to do and am starting to do. Yesterday, I wrote down all of the suggestions from this thread and I will be using your food spreadsheet as well. And although your spreadsheet includes EVERYTHING I could need and I also could have…

Thank you!

Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to formulate that response. But I get it, my protein goal was too high. I fixed it. I want to move on from there and still get suggestions on how to get more protein into my diet because even when I lower it to a reasonable amount I’m still having difficulty reaching it.
-
Gosh...I used a TDEE calculator and that's what it gave me - 40P, 40F, 20C, ...the protein goal has since been lowered. Still looking for ideas on how to sneak in protein based off of yesterday's entry.
-
I just read up on it and am sold!!! Sounds like a wonder food!!
-
Lucky for me, I do love yogurt, especially the greek kind. (the plain does taste like sour cream, but I mash up fruit to make it taste good)
-
Well, I feel better know you don't actually "like" cottage cheese! Why does the good food have to be so awful!! I'm gonna experiment with it!
-
I can't believe how many people like cottage cheese....am I doing it wrong? :D I've tried it several times and it just doesn't work for me. I'm gonna have to stick with greek yogurt...even though that tastes like sour cream.
-
Ooh, chocolate and peanut butter oatmeal - I think I can handle that! Yum!
-
I'm at the weighing most everything stage too! I'm probably going to go with the greek yogurt, sorry cottage cheese!
-
Ok, I LOVE this!!! Well, I don't love cottage cheese, but I'm willing to try it again in one of these tuna recipes! Thank you! Thank you! I do have a vacuum sealer too, but I will probably just make a batch one food prep sunday in grab n go storage containers.
-
Thanks! I'll check it out! I'm not gonna hit 500cals burned with yoga and a walk, so I definitely won't be going as low as 20%. Probably gonna drop it down to 30/35%.
-
Nut powders, I've never tried those. I think they'd be great in oatmeal! So, I should have clarified the protein powder more. If I have a shake/smoothie...I'm immediately looking for something else to eat therefore I try to avoid them. I have no problem adding the powder to something though. Not sure why I didn't think of…

I don't have any significant exercise calories. I will try the lean mass method for calculating protein though. Thanks. Good ideas....I see lots more greek yogurt in my future. We have been using 80/20 ground beef, so I will change that out....so many little things I hadn't thought of! Thanks!
-
Ooh, I'll definitely try those pastas!!! I could also bump up the amounts of protein I'm eating at each meal! Thank you!
-
Thank you for all your insights! The MFP people are the best!
-
Thanks, I'll look into changing it. I'm still looking for ideas to tweak my food plan to get in more protein (without adding too much more fat and carbs)
-
So smart to log the treat first! Hmm...you're set at 40% but MFP only give you 115 grams protein. So, your calories must be lower? I don't know. It's definitely a work in progress/learning process...that's why I'm here! I am going to figure out the lean mass calculation for comparison. I think lots of the foods I like with…
-
Oh god, do I love a good spreadsheet!! Thank you!
-
Well, there's a brillant idea!! :)

Since the protein goal is the big question... https://tdeecalculator.net/result.php?s=imperial&age=46&g=female&lbs=150&in=63&act=1.2&bf=25&f=1 I'm short, chubby, and middle aged. At maintenance, it had me at 1767. I tracked a few days here and there a few weeks ago to learn that I was eating about 1600 calories. My…

Yes! I love pre-logging, especially if I want to make room for a treat at the end of the day!
-
I'll calculate lean mass and compare. Thanks for the tip.
-
Thanks for your response! I used an online TDEE calculator. Just did it again. It's 152, which is lower than I have it set for, but I'm still not reaching that. Slowing increasing is a great idea! I love the oatmeal/peanut butter idea. I wish I liked eggs, but I don't...only when they're in cake recipe! I do use greek…
-
Thank you! Great suggestions! I used a TDEE calculator and that's what I got based on weight, height and age.
-
Pasta made from legumes might be a good idea for me. I've got the greek yogurt in there. I wish I enjoyed eggs...just not my thing. I'll check out that link.
-
@Justin_7272 Thank you! I copied the link from my diary...who knew it wouldn't work? I've got meat/protein in my lunch and dinner. Breakfast is a struggle. I don't love eggs, figured greek yogurt would help, but it's not enough. I'll look into making breakfast bars with protein powder. And yeah, I'm not opposed to the…

9/2 - 9/3 - 6 First Non-stop 6 since I started back to running. 9/4 - 9/5 - 3 9/6 - 9/7 - 9/8 - 3 ^^ I can't figure out why the ticker won't show my updated miles :( I was hoping to find an active thread, I guess I need to be careful of what I wish for. Trying to keep up! @katharmonic - Enjoy running in the world's best…

Well, it was raining this morning and I just wasn't feeling like running in the rain, but since I was up, I jumped on the bike-trainer. Not running, but cardio non-the-less...
