So, the ticker thing worked, I hope it's not weird, but I'm gonna introduce myself... I'm a 41 y/o married, working, mom of two boys who used to run often. Many 5Ks & 10ks, 2 obstacle courses, a half, a triathlon and then...and then, I really don't know what happened. Life got busy, I got lazy (about exercise), and my…

I just found this challenge and am going to jump in. I'm testing out my ticker...let's see if I did this correctly.

I decided to give drinking a rest for a bit. It's just not fitting in with my goals at the moment. The bad part (that I've noticed) is people's reaction/response to me not wanting a drink. I'm too old for people to think I'm pregnant, so, it's not that kind of fun reaction, it's more of a "what's wrong with you" type…

For me, it's not so much the drink calories, it's the fact that having a couple drinks (that I've set aside calories for) makes me think that eating a plate of nachos is a good idea. Drinking just makes me want to eat and eat and eat...

I would definitely see a doctor to rule out anything serious. I hope you'll get the same diagnosis as me....low blood pressure, slow pulse, so eat some salty chips. Yes, that's what the cardiologist recommended.

I'll give it a go!

I haven't noticed a connection yet, but I'm going to start keeping track of what I eat and the swelling. It definitely doesn't happen after every meal. So, maybe there is a certain food that's causing it.
-
It's definitely mild (as in I don't think I have any serious health condition). I don't have high blood pressure or take any medication. My first thought was sodium, but it wasn't a high sodium meal. I can't see how sugar/hfcs would cause it. Maybe it's the sitting at my desk part. That was listed as one of the causes.
-
It's doable and you may actually grow to like it. Although I never put sugar in my coffee, I had always used cream. I switched cold turkey to black coffee and prefer it that way now...if it's good coffee :)

I just want the clothes that I have to fit me again. I'm tired of having to wiggle into them and suck in my stomach to button them. I'm always throwing on a sweatshirt or sweater to cover myself. Enough already!

Thanks for the cliff notes! This is exactly the post I was looking for today!

I've just started cutting out the overly-processed-comes-in-a-box foods. I'm sticking with meats, fruits and vegetables. I'm having a really tough time reaching my calorie goal. I've love to peek at some diaries :)

Thanks 81Katz! It's all fixed!

I just did it by accident a few minutes ago. The second I hit enter, I said, "oops". I don't know how to fix it! Is there a way to edit something you added to the database?

We're at about $150 a week for a family of 4 in the Northeast. We have a Market Basket nearby which has lower prices...although lately I feel like that's not the case. And, then there are the incidentals during the week, which would probably spike that number. I seem to be spending more and more. My boys just won't stop…

I have a few friends on here that I would go looking for if I hadn't seen them in awhile and vice versa. It's a two-way street. I have to say though, I'm not sure if I would notice specificially if someone stopped bringing their lunch to work ( just to use your example ) MFP is a tool and I've made some great friends here…
-
Friendly and yes, there is an app for MFP.

I had tried Shakeolgy for the easy meal replacement aspect of it. ( I like a liquid breakfast in the morning ) What I like instead is this :: Shaw's - Berry Medley Frozen Fruit, 1 cup Quacker - Oatmeal, rolled Oats, 20 g Dymatize Nutrition - Elite 100% Whey Protein - Gourmet Vanilla, 33.6 g I change up the fruit combos,…

I want to be brave like you! I always chicken out! Your hair is gorgeous!!!

I don't feel like a vintage model yet (39), but I have quite a bit of gray. I used to color my hair when I was younger just for the fun of it, now I need to color it every four weeks or everyone over 5'3" will know my dirty little secret! I am always toying with the idea of letting it just go gray, and then I'm all "I'll…

I also came from Sparkpeople ( a few years ago). It's a great site, but yeah, it got very busy & cluttered. MFP is much neater and streamlined. Advice - Don't just log your food by estimate - weigh what you eat. The foodscale has been my most utilized tool!

To answer your question, are you shallow? Probably not intentionally, but a little bit. I've had this conversation many times with a friend. Her dilemma goes beyond the attractive part. She wants so many specific qualities in common that it's tough to find a match even if the looks are there. (To each their own, we all…

Elite 100% Whey Protein Oatmeal 2% Milk Stoney Field Farms Low Fat Yougurt Cream-Half&Half ....I guess the cream does rise to the top (or close to it) Coffee only came in at 10. I don't drink coffee without cream so it's weird that they aren't sequential? Since Protein & cream aren't really "foods" Blueberries and Bananas…

That's terrible! I usually like people's fitness & food log so that they know that I'm watching. If they do something outstanding, I comment. I usually write something goofy that I probably wouldn't say outloud IRL, like - Rock On!!! or You Go Girl!!! ....because it's fun.

We both have passcodes on our phones, but I know his & he knows mine. Of course, now I'm frantically cleaning out the nonsense on my phone...I wouldn't want him (or anyone) to see my Google history....then he would know what an idiot I am!!!
