This is from Chris Kresser, a guy who specialises in nutrition: While a slight caloric deficit can lead to sustainable weight loss (think 300-500 calories per day), much larger deficits induce changes in your body’s metabolism in order to keep your body in a homeostatic balance. Your body does not like major, drastic…

Yeah I am pretty lean so I think I'm just at the point where it's those last few stubborn couple of pounds. The hunger has been going on for about 6 weeks now (when I started the Kayla Itsines guide) so I think its the new routine causing the hunger rather than a hormonal thing. I am the same close to my period though,…

Yes that's very helpful thank you! I will start eating back my exercise calories. If it was a week or so I was super hungry I'd put it down to hormones or something but my body obviously needs more calories so eating back what I burnt off seems like a logical place to start!
-
Sounds just like me. I feel like I have to eat much less than other people to lose even just half a pound a week. Which is what made me wonder if maybe I'm not eating enough so my body stores what I do eat!

I would like to get down to 9 stone so 126 pounds. I go to the gym at least 5 times a week but on my rest days I don't move a lot because I work from home. On those days I will try to walk into town or something but that's only about a half hour walk!

If you're losing weight eating 2,200 calories a day on exercise days that makes me think I definitely should be increasing my calories. Something I'm more than happy to do :-)
-
I probably should have given my age/height/weight so I'm 34, I'm 5 foot 4 and I weigh 132 pounds (60 kilos)
-
No I don't, I try to keep my calories similar regardless of whether I exercise or not!
-
Great, that's good news! Thanks for all your help :-)

It is something from Boots, the doctor prescribed it to me but Boots told me you don't even need a prescription for it. It's Ferrous Fumarate 210mg and I've been told to take them three times a day. I have thrown the box away as I put them in a pill box so I remember to take them! What I can find online says: Each tablet…

I don't think they tested my B12 levels, a friend who suffers with anaemia said she was told to take B12 and it worked for her. Maybe it's not for me though if it can reduce your iron levels and I'm still struggling! I have been suffering with pins and needles for over a year now. I was tested for carpal tunnel last year…

I didn't know that some vegetables can hinder iron absorption, no wonder I'm still struggling! I could definitely do with more pulses in my diet so I will try that. Thank you!
-
Thank you, I will give this a go :-)
-
Thank you so much! It's a relief to know all this will eventually work, it just takes time. I am very much looking forward to feeling normal again :-)

I am a big fitness fanatic and am at the gym most days. I have a holiday coming up though and I wouldn't say I need to lose weight, really just looking to target a bit of fat loss - hence looking at ways to give the metabolism a boost. Interesting point about varying eating times though, will give that a try!
-
Thanks - will look into that. They were just using a scale to measure everything so would be good to go somewhere and get it done properly. Will keep on doing what I'm doing - bit disheartened at the moment but I know even if I'm not seeing physical results it's still all good for my general health!

Average calorie consumption between 1300 - 1600 depending on how much I'm exercising that day. I don't eat my exercise calories back as such but if I'm spending an hour and a half in the gym I'm hungrier than I would be if I'm having a rest day for example.
-
The personal trainer who did my measurements said that I put on one kilo of lean muscle mass so just going by what she told me!
-
I'm anal about it too which is why I don't understand it! I have noticed my sodium is high which is weird because I don't add salt to anything. Will go through and have a look at what's causing this and cut it out. Thanks!

Thanks everyone for the responses! I do my measurements about once a week and the last couple weeks they have stayed the same. I track every single thing I eat and drink in Fitness Pal and use a digital scale to measure EVERYTHING. I did think could Fitness Pal be overestimating the calories I'm burning so thanks, I will…
