Thanks for the Lifesum tip. I'll have to check it out. As far as using the recorded food in Health, there are some other apps that I connect to Health that want your Dietary Energy data, but if the number isn't right, it kind of skews the results. For instance, a glucose monitoring app will want to track carbs. So when I…

Except that they're rarely exact duplicates. And having to do that kind of defeats the whole idea of syncing apps and devices.

Hi Suzi! I've managed to keep 100 off and did it in my 40s. You can totally do it!!! Friend me if you'd like

I eat about an ounce of dark chocolate a day so don't feel the need to stock up at Easter. We do, however, have a tradition of going out for deep dish pizza. Once a year and we're done. Enjoy your holiday!

I was successfully maintaining a 140 pound loss when I had my thyroid removed, then hit menopause in what seemed like the very same month...And put on about 40 pounds in less than year. It's taken me 3 years to figure out what my magic number is in terms of calories and what thyroid med dosage works best. I also have to be…

Comics, post apocalyptic fiction, the Doctor, cheese, beer drinker/home brewer and a librarian to boot! I've had my nerd card for a long time! Sending a request now :)

Tonic water has about 125 cals in 12 ounces so you could go even lower if you swap that for soda water which has zero. But sadly also has no flavor.

I'll usually make an egg casserole for the week. 8 eggs, whole milk, ground turkey, veggies or whatever I have handy to toss in. Sometimes I eat it with salsa and guacamole on top. You could add a piece of toast and butter and get your 500 easily without having to cook or prepare every single day.

I went on my first and last low cal diet when I was about 29, losing about 60 pounds in four months. 5 months later I started having all the debilitating pain in my stomach and back. I put up with that for another year and then finally found I had gallstones and had them and the gallbladder removed. The surgery was pretty…

My general rule is to tip in the amount of one session. My sessions are $42 so I just get a nice crisp 50 and put it in a card. Other clients give him gift certifs to his fave restaurants or bottles of booze.

Yeah, I have a huge problem with willpower. Tho mine revolves around beer. I can say no to most everything else. So ditch things like bread and brown rice and swap them for more protein, fat and fiber.

Yeah, it's a def not a one size fits all as doctors like to believe. *I* would say your labs look fine, but then I never had any antibody issues to deal with, only suspect nodules on my gland so I had to have it removed for "maybe cancer" that I did no have. That of course sent me spiraling into hypo land. Three years…

I was successfully holding on to a 140+ weight loss prior to having to take methimazole to prepare for my thyroidectomy (3 1/2 years ago). While I was only subclinically hyper, between the methimazole and an additional beta blocker, I put on ten pounds pretty quick. I was also able to lose weight eating at a high cal…

You are plenty young and no doubt have plenty of collagen so have plenty of time to avoid the saggy skin look. I didn't get smart until I hit my late 30s so after losing (and then keeping off) almost 140 pounds the sag was kind of unavoidable, esp the older I got. But I also never set body composition goals. I only focused…

I have post-surgical hypothyroidism and 3 years later my levels still are not quite right, almost, but not quite. However, I can lose weight as long as I don't average more than 2300-2400 cals per day. Anything over that tho and I will gain very rapidly. I l also never try to lose more than a pound a week. I've lost a good…

Ironically, one of the symptoms of hypothyroidism is hair loss, but one of the side effects of levo is hair loss. Not sure of your age, but could the hair loss be hormonal? My hair grows super fast, but the thinning is faster. You might see if your doc will switch you to a natural dessicated thyroid med like Armour or WP.

The vast majority of patients that endos treat are diabetics. In my experience they are woefully unprepared to deal with thyroid patients. And they certainly aren't nutritionists. See if you can find a nutritionist and have them test your Resting Metabolic Rate and go from there. They will probably recommend something low,…

I found taking mine on an empty stomach or a full stomach never made a difference in my levels. Not when I was on Synthroid and not now on WP Thyroid. What does work tho is consistency. I wake up at the same time every day and that is when I take my pills. I'm usually eating 10 minutes after that and drinking coffee 20…

What was your average heart rate during that hour? It would have to be pretty high if you expect to burn more than that at your weight. Also, you said that you "burn 1700 a day." Are you saying that's your TDEE or your have you had your BMR measured? Your profile says that you've tried "every diet out there." Dieting is a…

In addition, see if you can get a full thyroid panel and have them check your T3 and T4 levels too. While not entirely progressive, in the US we have the American Thyroid Association (thyroid.org) that will at least advocate for T3 and T4 testing and maybe dosing based on symptoms. Perhaps the UK has an equivalent. Being…

I've got pretty bad tendinopathy in both my heels, calves and wonky knees. My meds are fine, but I'm sure being hypothyroid contributes to the problem. Everything just sort of happened all at once and of course I never had the problems before my thyroidectomy. Could be a coincidence, but who knows. I would see out a…

If you're binging I'm guessing that 1200 is merely a suggestion and not what you're actually eating. And that number seems incredibly low for someone who is exercising 6-7 times per week as you state. Try creating a spreadsheet and seeing what your average intake has been for the last couple of months and make a very…

TDEE works well for me. I won't lose if I start averaging over 2400 a day. Despite having my gland removed and hitting menopause at the same time, I've still managed to keep a pretty good metabolism. I've never dieted or eaten low calorie so I think that's helped me in the long run. The only difference I've found now is…

I've been on synthroid + cytomel, Armour and am now on WP Thyroid. I've noticed no significant changes after switching to any of them. I am currently a bit underdosed but have about 4 weeks before I can see my dr and get a new prescription so perhaps later on I'll notice a difference. Your diary is closed but I wonder if…

Surely you didn't mean you're only eating 500-800 total cals per day, right? My 79 pound dog eats more than that! If you cut out gluten, ideally you should replace those cals with fats. Eggs, avocados, coconut oil, etc. If you're used to eating vast amounts of carbohydrates, then suddenly cut them out completely you might…

After I lost my gland nearly 3 years ago, I started on synthroid and after about a year got my endo to add cytomel. And then we just kept raising and raising every two months for another year. Nothing made a difference. I ditched the synthetics for natural dessicated thyroid meds about six months ago and still not much of…

^^^This^^^ While your BMR sounds normal, your TDEE seems low, unless you really are doing nothing more than sitting seven days a week. If there are days that you exercise, I would subtract 500 from that number and eat a little more.
