  • I developed hospital acquired pneumonia and pancreatitis about 10 days after my RNY in 2015. I spent 4 nights/5 days in the hospital recovering; they wanted to keep me one more night but I was going nuts in there. The first 2.5 days were brutal but then I made a pretty quick recovery. It took me longer to recovery from my…
  • It all depends on the composition of your breast tissue. Mine are a shadow of their former selves--48 double D to 32 double nothing. Although having no breasts makes many things easier, I do sometimes miss my abundant rack!
  • I completed my first marathon!
  • You can also consider looking for alternatives for yourself. I've found low sugar, low carb recipe options that keep me feeling like I can have a treat too! I do have the added "benefit" of having done gastric bypass and dumping is a real thing for me so it is easier (although not always completely possible) to keep from…
  • I use an immersion blender to mix protein powder in my coffee. Works beautifully.
  • Lol. Just kidding. I found it to be like very lean, slightly gamey beef.
  • Add pepperoni and your life will never be the same! I also strain my cottage cheese to get rid of any excess liquid.
  • Are you specifically looking for samples or pre- packaged individual servings? I've bought individual servings in several flavors off of Amazon.
  • I don't have a specific brand recommendation for men, but I have big thighs and fit is an issue for me when running... they always want to ride down. I don't normally like a drawstring for leggings or tights but need them for running tights.
  • Syntrax Chocolate Whey Shake mixed with Blue Diamond unsweetened chocolate almondmilk is just like chocolate milk. I put it in the freezer for a few minutes to get it extra cold and it kills two birds with one stone-- my sweet tooth and extra protein.
  • A melon baller is a great tool for removing mushroom gills!
  • Get an Instant Pot. It does a beautiful job on rice and you can use it for other things...like making yogurt!
  • @GailK1967 I'm on it...I'm not going to take no for an answer! I keep hearing that I'm in normal range and shouldn't be feeling the way that I do at the levels that I've been at, but I've just steadily watched my levels drop since October 2015. It was about a year ago when I really started feeling run down and that was…
  • That is good to know. I have a follow up with both my GP and my gynecologist this month. I'll see if I can harangue one into ordering an infusion! I'll look into the patches too...the extra supplementation (and the liver!) Is an untenable situation.
  • Any history of iron deficiency or anemia? It can cause some neuropathy in the feet and hands.
  • I squeaked by and managed to exceed my mileage goal this month by 1.9 miles! I have a half marathon to run in a couple of weeks, but August will be focused on more cross-training.
  • Have they considered pancreatitis? That sounds very similar to what I experienced shortly after my gastric bypass. My gall bladder had been gone since 2011 but, after my surgery, I developed debilitating pain. I still have some pain occasionally and could be either stones or chronic pancreatitis...but it is no where as bad…

  • I'm not Canadian...but am here frequently on business. Discovered Chapman's no sugar added ice cream bars and cornets. I was a little leery because of the maltitol but the cornets were very tasty and no GI distress to speak of!
  • Is there a reason why you're not eating the egg yolk? Most of the vitamins and minerals are in the yolk...
  • I had a 19 hour unmedicated labor and delivery... ...I've also had bowel movements that far surpassed any of that pain!
  • I don't like to take Miralax more than absolutely necessary. Flax seed meal and chia seeds are a regular part of my diet. I generally have a cup of "fat" coffee in the morning and it secures the deed before I run.
  • It has too much sugar for me but my girls liked the vanilla and the lemon. I totally bought it for the cute little jars...
  • Maybe there were just no concerns, but I felt like my psychological consult was a joke. In fact, it almost seemed like she was asking me leading questions to keep me from saying anything that would disqualify or disrupt the approval process. Of course, I'm happy to not have had to jump through additional hoops, but really…
  • @CSARdiver There is a Dr. Jeffrey Brown, Endocrinologist in Houston. I live in a suburb of Houston. If I'm not satisfied with the assessment/treatment plan of the one I'm seeing on Friday, I'll try to get an appointment with him! Thanks for the tip. I did get a full thyroid panel done in April. Unfortunately, not everyone…
  • @jcavanna2 Also, to add that clinical Dexa for evaluating bone density for osteoporosis and the like are often NOT full body.
  • @jcavanna2 The DEXA is one of the best things I've done to get my head in the right place...especially when I'm having a "fat day" and need to be reminded of my progress. I am so pissed that the weight gain means that I don't fit into my size 2 jeans, but it wasn't all fat and I'm still at a very good body composition. If…
  • @skonger Based on my antibodies, it doesn't appear to be Hashimoto's. That means likely secondary hypothyroidism ave the most common cause of that is a problem with the pituitary. No doubt that my hormones are all out of whack...I'm 41, was obese for years, lost 130 pounds in a year, and have very low body fat. I'm hoping…
  • Hi Heather- I had gastric bypass just a little more than 2 years ago. There are a number of groups on MFP connected to weight loss surgery. The link below is probably one of the most active ones. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/637-gastric-bypass-vsg-lapband
  • @MobyCarp @hekla90 @30kgin2017 @spiriteagle99 @ContraryMaryMary I've had a lot of tests done and don't have SO many answers yet but I feel like I'm getting closer to figuring things out. It is just taking time to see the doctors that need to be seen and the tests that need to be done. I really am thankful for all the…
