  • It has been 2.5 years (June 2018) and I lost 122 lbs but gained back a bit so I am down a total of 92 lbs! It was life changing for the better even with the struggle with the regain!!

  • I’m not sure what works, besides what you are already doing! But I know when my appetite really came back I gained 18 lbs before I caught it! So good job catching it quickly :)
  • That’s good advice thanks :)?
  • Wow just a few weeks out! Hope your healing goes well It really is life changing! Depending on where you live and your surgeon it can take some time to get through the process but it is worth it
  • Good morning! It seems like every surgeon is different with their expectations so the best things I learned are -Start making changes right away, it will be easier if you have beaten a few cravings before hand -pay attention to your body, it will tell you if it doesn’t like something (the can and cannot eat list varies for…
  • I usually check on boards about twice a week so I will start stopping by if some people will be around! I can probably use the support too, I gained 20 lbs over the past year with Covid, my mental health took a dive! I had my surgery in January 2018, my lowest weight was 211 (for like a week lol) I settled at 218, and I’m…
  • This group has been real quiet for a long time it would be nice to see it get really active again
  • I was a type 2 diabetic for 15 years, I never had to take insulin but was on 3 or 4 meds, after weight loss surgery I lost 122 lbs but I have gained back 30 lbs (my sturgeon said 15-20 was normal but my body isn’t pleased with it) My sugars were really good after my surgery my A1C was down in 5.5 range! But my last one was…
  • We have been on total social lock down here but I have 7 people who live in my house so it was not lonely! Tomorrow I get to go have blood work to decide if my sugar is high enough to need diabetic medication again. I was warned that my med free time from weight loss would only last so long because i struggles with my…
  • Happy post-Christmas everyone I am glad christmas eating season is over, especially this year there wasn’t a bunch of parties so that made it easier! My husband got me a new Fitbit for Christmas so I’m hoping it will help me get back on track for exercise, my last fit bit died after 3 years!
  • Good morning I spoke to my diabetic nurse today, we made a new goal of 10 minute walk 3x a week. It’s great to see you here :) This sounds like a great goal :)
  • That’s how I feel, I lost touch then I lost myself again, I am measuring logging and connecting this week! It feels better already. I am 2.5 years out and have slipped on 10 lbs this year, since I don’t want that 10 to be 50 I’m taking control now!
  • Thanks :) it’s really hard but it’s so much easier when you have a community, I will try to pop in a lot more often!! Good job on the walks :) it’s true it gets so much easier with time Well you can come back all the time now, I promise to stop in more often too! I don’t fall in the 300 category anymore but I have to keep…
  • I think there is mixed science in pouch reset, instead of doing a reset maybe it would help to go back to the basics, measure and log your food, get your 80 grams of protein, exercise 150-300 minutes a week!
  • Great job on the walks, and. Nice to see someone here :) I hardly ever stop by anymore! It’s hard to get back on track, I am doing logging for the next week as my way to get back on track as I have not logged in a long time!
  • The struggle is real! My best advice is to start logging your food, every bite! It’s amazing what we can slid past our surgeries! If you log everything you may be able to pick out where you need to adjust things! And find things for self-care and distraction! These are insane times and we need to be kind to ourselves!
  • I don’t have any advice but crappy that happened to you! I hope it’s not a life long thing.
  • I bet lots of us are in that boat, I found myself slipping back that way a bit the last few months. I wish I had a magic answer lol, the best I can say is log before you eat sometimes it will make you double think a snack, and eat high protein foods. I find i preplan all my snacks during the day and do great then make…
  • Hope it goes well, it’s hard to be patient but there is so much you can do now to get ready! Good luck
  • Welcome back, this group is pretty not active these days!!! Did you try some insoles in your shoes, might just be the material! Hope your able to get back on track fast

  • I'm sorry I dont understand why your under 800 calories a day especially if your running. I think your hungry cause your not eating enough. I am 16 months out and eat about 1500 calories and 80 plus grams of protein a day. This is what my doctor set me at for maintaining! Some days my broken brain tries to tell me I failed…
  • That sounds awful! I dont have any advice but just wanted to say hang in there! Hopefully it gets better
  • Every person feels pain differently, I was given tramacet and only needed it for 3 days post surgery! Hopefully the tramadol will be enough!
  • When in doubt call your doctor!
  • Every one is a bit different too, some people struggle more then others and some people don’t struggle at all, it’s super important to take it slow though cause your healing on the inside too :)
  • Every program is a bit different for sure, but I agree protein is the big goal across the board I think
  • Wow you are so close! had 2 slip ups during my “optifast which in my case was diabetic boost” phase, on the first day I was starving and ate half a taco, then about a week and a half in I lost my cool for 5 minutes at ate a few tablespoons of pasta! To help curb those cravings I made crystal light flavoured popscicles and…
  • Yikes! I would think a quick call to your surgeon might benefit you! I hope you feel better
  • Yikes, no advice as I had bypass instead, but I hope you feel better quickly!!!
