There's never a perfect time to have a baby. If you were at goal after having worked so hard to get there you'd have some of the same concerns you have now. You can maintain a healthy pregnancy by continuing with good nutrition and exercise...it's possible to gain a minimal amount of weight and still have a healthy child.…

I do a little of both. I was generally eating healthy 80-90% of the time but thought I could eat as many fruits and veggies as I wanted. I learned this is not true. MFP for me started just tracking calories. Now I track the nutrients as well. When you begin to view food as a means to fuel your body and not as anything…

Really great ideas everyone. I'm thinking of making turkey chili tonight.

Smoothies in the AM - you could add protein powder to it, even two scoops if you're already doing 1 scoop. Add a banana along with the berries.

I'd ask your BIL how many cals he expects you to burn while on the diet. And are you to eat the same every day (lift, cardio and rest days). I'd also ask how many women he has on this program and what their workouts look like and how much weight they've lost. I'm sure there's the exercise component as well. If you're…

Bump for later! Sounds great for tonight's dinner! Thanks :)

I really like the Babyfit site for all things pregnancy and diet related. They have meal plans. And it's free. I used it with my last pregnancy, discovered it about halfway through and only gained 30 pounds compared to 65 with my first.

Egg whites with salsa or the left-over veggies from last night's dinner are very filling. I also love a light english muffin or bagel thin split in half add 1 slice of tomato to each half then half a slice of cheese to each. Sprinkle with italian seasoning. Broil ~5min until bubbly.

Toning will definitely help. And don't worry about what other people wear. Focus on you and your journey. This is 100% about you and your life. You'll get there.

I like cooking light magazine - they do a lot of traditional favorites but make them lighter...Mac n cheese, Broccoli Gratain, Baked Ziti, etc. Last night I made cauliflower "potatoes" as the side. I know it's still a veggie but it felt like a starch.

Really depends on if you're pumping full time or bf full time or a mix. The pump will never be as efficient as a baby and that's what could be causing supply to dip. Water is key. I also tried oatmeal and the mother's milk tea. Once supply is established (+12 weeks) your body will compensate and make what it needs for your…

i was shocked when i turned sugar on at first as well. its in everything! although there's also studies about fake sugars and sugar alcohols like malitol (found in sugar-free candy) that can have similar effects as sugar. but yes, once i started tracking sugar and carbs is when i really started losing. good luck!

you could try to make your own soups with low-sodium broths. it's very easy to do with fresh veggies and a little chicken or beef. also if you cut the ketchup and bbq in half down to 2 TBSP, both of those things will help with sodium.

see your doc. it could be a medical condition. if you measure and weigh and wear a HRM and you're certain about the 1400-1500 cals. but if you're off by even 100 cals per day that could very well be the problem. and if you want help from MFP members you can open up your diary to be public so that people can give you…

I was +5 lbs this a.m. as a testimonial against what your nurse said.

I like articles on Bodybuilding.com site, such as this one that explains that there are differences in the way your body is able to use protein... http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/protein-bio-availability-explained.htm

I think you could start to add in some whole grains and veggies at meals.

This .... AND... Don't weigh yourself tomorrow. Stay on your plan for 3 days then come back and let us know how you did!

Fish & Tofu as well as what others have mentioned

Ah! Discovered I hunched over as I read your post...thanks!

Great job on your first 40 lb loss! I'm glad you're here. I can say that you'll definitely get the support, encouragement and even a good kick in the pants when warranted here. Everyone here is great! Welcome!

Thank you! I'm sure I just needed to vent. So now I can re-focus on my own journey and smile :) I love you all for responding and for really understanding what it is I was trying to say. Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Thanks! I love fall and making my own healthy soups. I'm adding your recipe to my shopping list and plan to try it soon.

I'm right there with you my fasting is in high 120's low 130's but not after meals. IFG (Impaired Fasting Glucose) and an A1C of 5.7 does not make you Diabetic but does possibly mean you have IR and potentially PCOS. My Endo was very informative. I also just had to have my thyroid removed because there were nodules growing…

My trainer gave me great advice he said if it really gets bothersome like if people are bringing you food or putting things on your plate or taunting you with desserts, you can pull people individually aside and confront them and say something like "it upsets me that you don't want me to succeed." That usually shuts them…

Fresh ground from Whole Foods is my favorite, seconded closely by the Smucker's Natural. My kids (when we switched) said "hey mom this actually tastes like real peanuts."

I would look at the Babyfit site by sparkpeople. You neeed to make sure you're eating enough and healthfully. That site has meal plans and workouts designed for you when you're pregnant. Congrats and here's to a healthy and happy baby!
