  • Hi, I'm Kris and am 45. After 40 it is harder, but this site really works. Log in religiously. When I stopped logging daily, I gained 15 pounds. Stay with it. I used the Flat Belly Diet book to help my eating habits and this to log my food and exercise. It does work if you do. "Start slow and taper off". Just kidding :-}
  • Be very careful about what you use as suppositories. The rectum is for the voiding of waste, not the absorption of anything. Abusing this system may end with an unwanted colostomy bag when the rectum has to be surgically removed. Not sexy!!!!
  • you must read the book Born to Run by Christopher McDougall. It is inspiring and educating. It is a great read and will answer all of your questions throughout the great story of the book. You will never run the same again!!!
  • First of all, I love your Doberman!! Then, about your calories and exercise, if you undercut your calories, you will only lose temporary weight. You have to fuel the engine to burn calories. I love the book, the flat belly diet. It is a sensible approach and it is easy to follow. The daily calorie intake is 1600 and it is…
  • Steel Magnolias....I know, I know, but who doesn't love a woman named Weezer?
  • Rick, I never worried about my weight either. But, last summer I realized I weighed exactly what I did on the day I gave birth to my daughter. (20 years ago). I was 44 years old, 5'8" and 163 pounds. When did I become pudgy? The best thing I did was to join this site to make me be accountable for the calories I was…
  • 1 cup corn flakes (not frosted) 1 cup nonfat skim milk 2 TBSP raisins 2 TBSP chopped almonds has right around 430 calories and great source of protein. Tastes great and will hold you till lunch. The monounsaturated fat from the almonds will encourage fat burning and weight loss, also makes you feel full.
  • You may have misjudged your activity level. It is easy to overestimate how active we are. Not many jobs actually qualify at aerobic activity. Really try to guage your lifestyle correctly or else MFP will allow you too many calories.
  • your calorie intake seems a little low for all of that intense exercising. Maybe you should rework your diet?
  • So, just a quick glance at your diary and I see very little fiber and lean protein. Mostly I see processed foods. Try eating 400 calories 4 times a day and make most of them lean protein and fibrous fruits and vegetables. Here is an example: Breakfast: 1 cup Corn flakes, 2 TBSP raisins, 2 TBSP sunflower seeds, 1 c Fat Free…
  • keep up the good work. I can only imagine how proud you are of yourself!!!
  • I know it doesn't sound great, but beans and rice are very economical and with some seasoning, can be very tasty. I eat them at least 5 days a week. Good luck!
  • 1 cup of corn flakes, 1 cup skim lactose-free milk, 2 TBLSP raisins, 2 TBLSP almonds or sunflower seeds. This is 415 calories and with the mono-unsaturated fat of the nuts, it will hold you until lunch. It is fast, especially if you bag up a bunch of these, minus the milk and have them ready to grab and pour into your…
  • Try this recipe for pancakes: 1 cup oatmeal, 6 egg whites, 1 cup low-fat cottage cheese, 1 TBLSP vanilla, 1tsp cinnamon, all blended in the blender to the right consistency and then pour on griddle with olive oil spray into pancakes. These are way better than whole wheat pancakes and the carbs are the really good kind.
  • Thinking that you have to go to the gym to work out is like thinking you have to go to a restaurant to eat. Home is the better place for both. Check out Youtube for lots of exercises, run outside, ride your bike, share videos with friends. Your home is never closed or too packed and you don't have to commute to get there.…
  • Do you know the nutrional values and calories etc. of this soup? I want to make it tonight.
  • I also tried Meridia a long time ago and had terrible side effects (oily stools that were not controllable) YIKES! I say find a good eating plan that incorporates healthy choices and forget the pills. I love the Flat Belly Diet. It is easy and requires no unusual foods and no expensive ingredients. Even my husband is doing…
  • You can get the work out guide and nutrition guide online in printable form. No need to buy anything else. Great find. I know you will love it. Do not get discouraged if you can't do everythin right away. Stick to it and you will be amazed at the results.
  • I am also a newbie. I just started the Flat Belly diet and am on day 4 and have already shed about 2.5 pounds. I am optimistic that MyFitnessPal will help me to stay motivated and accountable. The best thing, my husband is on the diet with me.
  • I am not sure, but there is a walking categorie under cardiovascular. That might work.
