  • Hi @gmabethof3 , Glad to hear your son in law is out of the hospital again. It is tough when you are out of routine. This week sounds like a winner though. Good bounce back and yes, I hope Friday is good for you. I have bounced up from my 162 so ..... I have gained 1 lb. Working hard at it this week too and expect to have…
  • Welcome! Good loss. It is hard as you age. This WOE makes it a little easier. We have a ladies group for the over 50 too. The information stuff is on this site but our smaller group gives support to those of us who are handling menopause, aging parents, teenage children, careers and bodies that do not seem ours anymore. If…
  • I was pleased to see a store in my small city (150,000) that sell dented cans, crushed boxes and ugly veggies/fruits. Debit and Cash only to hold the overhead down as well. It has been there for a full year and seems to be doing well. Also, one of our local stores of a national chain sells ugly veggies/fruits in a special…
  • Yup. I took a job at a gym as a trainer and it was the same thing. Thought I could help people, they just wanted to sell people. Learned never to take a sales job.
  • @sunny_bunny_ I realize I have never met another INFP. It is exciting! One of the comments in one of the books had a profound effect for me. It said when interviewing for a job, listen carefully to what the job IS, not what you think the job could be. I always found this hard to do but the awareness was really, really…
  • @KnitOrMiss I am going to look up my book because there is a faint memory of something about one type not being able to pick a type. I will check. I remember doing this test in a large group of 70 people. When we were asked to divide up into our types, there were two of us left standing alone. Me, a very strong INFP and a…
  • Can someone clarify for me? I realize we lose potassium when we have low salt in our system but I never thought I would need supplementation if I ate a properly formulated low carb or slow carb diet with enough salt. I eat greens, meat, fish, cheese, some yogurt and nuts. And depending upon how low carb or slow carb I am…
  • Hi @sati_18, I am glad this thread was commented upon. I do not have your struggles. It is great that we are being helpful. Just wanted to offer my welcome to the group. My diary is open to friend and I am a slow carber so not keto levels. You are welcome to add me as a friend if you wish. Good to hear there is an…
  • Thanks for the book suggestions. Will look for them. @carimiller7391 there are a number of us eating between 50-150 carbs. I have worked down to 70-100 with good fiber count and my body seems to like it there.
  • Thanks, @RalfLott , appreciated!
  • Yup, square pegs in round holes. My mother used to say that was the unfortunate job of a parent. To help with the "rounding".
  • Except for me, when I might be joining you in your socks because I dressed too fast. But I do not like standing out at all.
  • @KnitOrMiss I think we all have an ideal in mind. And for me in younger years The test said I was borderline Extravert/Introvert and borderline J and P. As I have aged, more introvert and although I still like things settled, I see things in shades of gray. Always a strong sense of justice but would rather have peace than…
  • Glad to hear about your success. There are lots of Kato followers as well as low careers over at http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group if you want company. Great knowledge and resources in the group too.
  • There are a number of books that go with this test. https://www.amazon.ca/Please-Understand-Temperment-Character-Intelligence/dp/1885705026 I still have the 1970 version on my shelf! There are also some on specifics: workplace interactions, spouses, and children.
  • Well ...... definitely a "P" at the end of your type. ;) Me .... I am one of the rescuers. Cannot help myself. When there is upset or injustice or when there is a misfit looking for a friend. I love this test. Did it years ago when working in an IT department. Surrounded by INTJ or INTP in both home and work .... I am a…
  • Great to have you here! Welcome! One meal with corn, is simply one higher carb, high fiber meal. Not keto certainly. Just go back to keto eating. I get my recipes from: dietdoctor.com ruled.me IbreatheIamhungry There are others recipe sites in the Launchpad up ^^^^^^. Have a look. My understanding that the diet works well…
  • There is a large group of supportive and knowledgeable people who eat ketogenic, lower carb or slow carb diets over at: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group
  • I can offer nothing but sympathy @KnitOrMiss . You and @baconslave do so much here and you rarely let your own struggles show. I hope you find your answers and your research and experiments can end soon. More referrals perhaps? At least here in Canada, the more unusual your symptoms, the further up the specialist ladder…
  • And this McMaster University study was not involved in any prescribed dietary regime, so not ketogenic per se.
  • The scarf is numo technique and I fell in love with the watercolour Monet look but easy though it might be, I cannot get started because I am afraid of disappointment. It is a kit. The needle felting looked like fun and there was something other than small animals which caught my interest. I had not dreamed of such…
  • Hi @microwoman999, What a flurry of advice! If you are interested in eating a lower carb diet, and that does seem to be what your doctor was recommending, - although, as the others have said, he got a great deal incorrect -: Come on and join the people at the Low Carb group on MFP. There are low carbers, ketoers, slow…
  • There are lots of informed, knowledgeable and supportive Low carber, ketoers, moderate carbers etc in this Low Carb group.
  • I second the magnesium and cutting out cheese. I found I have to eat more fiber so i upped the veg a little and added a fiber supplement. Since my fiber has been added to, I haven't had problems.
  • Thanks for the link, Pam. The youtube tutorial organization is great.
  • Jan 16 : 162 Yeah! Pam, I saw a display for a local felter at a art sale and fell in love with a scarf. They had kits. I also bought some extra wool and needle felting kit because I liked it. That was 2 years ago and it still sits in a bag beside my bed. The scarf seems to be a big messy project so only in the summer. I…
  • If you have not had blood sugar problems in the past, my bet is electrolytes or maybe something in the syrup your body did not like if it wasn't pure maple syrup?
  • You are 20. You have a whole life ahead of you. You will have to learn how to eat well and control your weight, either now or later. The real question, IMO, is how long do you want to wait before you feel better, feel better about yourself and have energy? Because you are going to have to face this at some point in your…
  • I hope the move goes well and you can get settled quickly.
