  • Good tip. I find making peppermint tea a good distraction. If i have the time I'll go have a long bath as I can't eat then and it takes my mind off of it
  • I can't step on the scales everyday as my weight varies way too much day to day. As much as i know it's water/sodium/period/something random it messes with my head too much.
  • I think overeating can be an addiction though. It can cause disability and shorten your life if you can't get it under control. If you keep on doing something long term even though you know it's having negative consequences then I would class that as an addition. It has been shown that people get a high from overeating…
  • It seems more selfish for her brother to take all her food, she said she doesn't mind him taking a little, but he snarfs loads of it. We share the majority of our food at home but if someone brought something special I would ask first. I would say, keep it in your room or ask your parents if they could buy more fruit as…
  • I have been to quite a few subways all over the UK and they have all worn gloves every time. I don't really eat that much meat so I get the veggie option and they alway put on fresh gloves for the veggie subs if they have been touching meat. I did see a gross story in the newspaper where a worker put lettuce up his nose…
  • You will only put the weight back on if you start overeating when you reach your goal.
  • I love all types of pizza whether takeaway, stuff crust, flatbread, pitta, tortilla or cauliflower. Anything I can put cheese and tomato sauce on basically is alright by me. The lower calorie ones are typically the thin crust types. I also make pizza pitta or pizza tortilla which can be pretty low cal depending on your…
  • They should take that stuff pretty seriously I would have thought, why wouldn't you wash your hands, so nasty. All the guys at my local subway wear gloves and change them regularly. I'm glad I know some people that used to work there, I think it's run pretty well.
  • My granddad used to say, "you got to eat a bit of dirt before you die". Well he didn't say dirt, but I'm not sure I can swear on here. Saying that, out of date meat does sound like it could be kind of dangerous, I can't imagine many places doing that, think of the potential law suits if someone got really ill and it was…
  • Veggie delite, extra cheese, has to be toasted, and honey mustard dressing. oh and has to be on honey oat bread.
  • I've never had a soda with high sodium in, in fact pepsi max = 0 sodium and coke zero =trace and diet coke =trace. Maybe it's different formulations in different countries or something? Otherwise it seems weird that's a reason not to drink them.
  • I think diet sodas has helped my weight loss. If I'm really hungry but I am low on calories left for the day or want to eat a bit later then a cherry pepsi max seems to satisfy me more than water. I have cut back on sodas recently, the only reason being I was drinking way too much caffeine. I drink fizzy water and 1-2 cans…
  • Those that understand hyperbole and sarcasm, and those who don't?
  • Some people seem to enjoy being self righteous on here, I wouldn't take it personally.
  • Things I learnt -Get some decent shoes -Start slowly, an app like couch to 5K or Zombies 5k are good. -Don't worry if you find it really tough at first. I felt so bad I couldn't even manage 1 min runs at first. I just did 30 seconds and kept trying and my fitness improved quicker than I thought possible. If I remember…
  • The guy was a douchbag though, whatever his preference he didn't have to treat someone like that. Plus 172cm and 70kg is not that big and she was athletic so she was being honest. Athletic doesn't always mean very slim.
  • If I'm not too hungry then I don't force myself to eat more just to hit a target. You won't go into starvation mode by occasionally under eating. On the other hand if it was me I would probably add more veg and fibre, but it's very much what works for you. Consistently under eating could effect you energy and workouts in…
  • I think this is a good illustration of why some people may be uncomfortable with comments. Although according to some people it because we are ungrateful, over sensitive and easily offended. I have never been offended or upset by a well meaning compliment, I would just rather someone wasn't commenting on my body who…
  • Preferring not to get them doesn't mean you are offended by them :)
  • I think it's about "knowing your audience". If I knew someone who was working really hard at weight loss/gym etc and was openly talking about it, I would be ready with the compliments. If someone wasn't ready with the information on why or how they were losing weight I think it's more polite to not mention it.
  • Not everyone loses weight for vanity (nothing wrong with that though). I was getting a lot of compliments when I got ill and lost two stone in under a month so I didn't really appreciate it. If I had been talking about my new healthy lifestyle then the compliments might have been welcome. Not that I was rude about the…
  • I would just try a variety of styles until you find what you like. Find what you like the look of as well as feels comfortable. Personally I'm a size 14, pear shape and love skinny jeans. I wear what I want now. I used to live in boot cut when I was a size 20 because that was what I was" supposed" to wear. I hate boot…
  • I agree I don't like the comments either. I think it's all about context. If a friend has been talking to me about losing weight then I think I would compliment them when I started to notice. They are reaching their goals and would likely appreciate people noticing. Anyone else I'm not going to comment on their body unless…
