You want protein. There are soooooo many ways to get protein, though, that options are just about limitless. You haven't named calories, but try for stuff like nuts (be careful with portions), pepperoni, beef jerky, Quest bars.

I'm not a "breakfast person" - I take a cup of yogurt to work, go for a 1k step walk around my building at 9 am, come back, eat the yogurt, drink 4 cups of water, and I'm good until lunch at 12:30. Then I have a snack around 3, dinner around 6, and a bedtime snack around 9.
-
I usually take a sandwich, fruit, and a serving of a "chip" - veggie sticks, cheddar bunnies, etc. Sometimes I take leftovers from dinner - if you are interested in variety, maybe overcook dinner and have some leftovers for yourself for the next day's lunch?

My father is diabetic, and he found out when he was 30 or so. His parents also both were diagnosed with diabetes, though they were in their 70s at the time. Both my parents are obese and I have a younger sister who is 16 and starting to slide in that direction, as I did. I want to be a good example to her - I'm 10 years…

100 calorie greek yogurt! Several brands have one, I like the Yoplait.

Hey! I'm Patricia, an Orange Iguana. I'm 26 years old, 5'8" or 5'9" depending on life and the doctors' office I'm at. My highest weight was 330, and I am currently at 313 though I am confident this will go down tomorrow morning when I step on the scale. My goal was 230 at first just to say "-100 lbs" - will I go lower? Let…

I have learned that you are either a "breakfast person" or you're not. There's not really an in-between - some people go postal if they don't get their yogurt or cereal or oatmeal or bagel, and some people couldn't care less. I don't think there is an in-between!

I know I'm late and I weigh on Fridays, but I wanted to give this a try! :) Name: Patricia Height: 5'8" Starting Weight (2/1): 316.6 lbs Goal Weight (2/28): 308 lbs 2/1: 316.6 lbs 2/8: 2/15: 2/22: 2/28: Loss/gain for the week: N/A Loss/gain for the month so far: N/A Struggles or successes of your week: N/A

If I eat breakfast, it's a cup of Greek yogurt, but usually just a cup of coffee. Breakfast kick-starts my metabolism and I am hungry by 11:30, otherwise I can hold out until almost 1 pm. It's crazy how that works. I am a night owl by nature, and I prefer to dedicate the 100-odd calories I spend on breakfast to an…

I'm here, I'm trying!!

I'd say a One or a Flex. Both are under $100 - it just depends on if you think she'd like one on her wrist or on her pocket/bra/pants. The bad thing about the Zip is the battery requirements - you can recharge all of the other Fitbit products. I have a Flex and I love it, but I like to have it on my wrist where I can see…

I have a Flex, and I find it to be accurate and lovely. It really motivates me to get up and move throughout the day. That said, I don't eat back calories I burn from exercise so I pay no mind to the calories I "earn" over the course of the day.
-
I put my hands on my hips earlier this week and said to myself, "Holy crap, I have hips?!" - I usually just put them on approximately where I imagine my hips would be, but I can actually feel a little bone in there now!
-
I had the same conondrum, and I got the Flex. But in my case, it's because I am beginning to lose weight and have a long way to go. I'd have to get an XL Charge HR, and when I lose weight I'd likely go down to a Large - the Flex comes in only 2 sizes, and you can change the band out at will. I'll upgrade to an HR once I've…

There are some days I eat over 1200, and some days I'm just stalled out/not hungry. Tonight, for instance, I'll be lucky to hit 1200 because I've just had a chaotic day and haven't had much time to eat. What is the nutritional detriment to me there? I don't want to force 600 calories down my throat that I don't want to eat…

So I guess I'm not sure if I should eat more than, say, 1200, because I'm burning 600 and I don't want to be sitting at "just" 600 cals/day? I wasn't sure if that might contribute to my I'm gaining weight, or if that's really just related to water weight from pre-period bloat.
-
I'm burning ~600 a day, and my diet intake is anywhere from 1200-1800 depending on the day (due to my size, I get 1800 calories but I rarely eat that many because I find myself eating such filling food during the day).
-
"Radical diet" was poor word choice - radical departure from my old fast food, casual dining lifestyle, but not anything actually radical. Just calorie counting. And no, it's just more steps - I'm not doing any additional exercise right now, with my sedentary desk job it's an effort for me to get in 10,000 steps - just…

I have a Bubba cup that I love! A lot of people swear by Tervis tumblers, too - I have both. ;) http://www.amazon.com/bubba-52-mug-classic-purple/dp/B003X42PIA

Started at 330, at 318 now after a smidge over a month - can always use friends!
-
Clearly we need a celery diet to round this out.
-
I should add: I've never had an irregular period before with the exception of once in ... 2010, I believe it was. So this is highly unusual. I'm usually like clockwork.

Liquor and diet soda are your best bet, or just liquor on the rocks. It's the fruity mixed ones that'll get ya. But really, enjoy!! A week isn't going to kill any long-term work you've done if you get back on the horse afterwards. This is the (hopefully!!) only honeymoon you'll ever get - enjoy it!

Thank YOU for being a gracious OP! Those are hard to come by these days. You're the real MVP. ;)

I looked at the Taco Bell nutrition facts earlier and was MORTIFIED that I used to put away at least 1500 calories without blinking there! What was I thinking!?

Time for Skymall to become useful! $25 apiece, who's in on a group order?

I love my Fitbit One and I highly recommend it. I just clip it to my bra and forget about it - I rarely remember I'm wearing it! This DOES mean that when I'm home I'm typically not wearing it, but if I'm home I am taking maybe an extra 50 steps the rest of the night? I come home, bra comes off, energy level totally bottoms…
