I have a Sunbeam that I bought from Amazon a couple of years ago for around $50, and I love it. I used to make it by hand, but I found I just didn't have the time. Finally, my husband persuaded me to get this machine, and I'm so glad I did. My tip would be to only use the dough cycle, then take the bread out and bake it…

Green and blacks. They do a whole bunch of flavours - Mayan, extra dark, chocolate with pieces of cherry or ginger in... Delicious! It's located with the organic/ natural produce in my local store :)

For a quick and easy recipe, I add light sour cream and a small amount ranch dressing packet... Makes it a little less bland. Though it may not be so good for salt etc, I find it provides the seasoning to totally improve the flavour!

I'd love to - always in need of some extra motivation... And we're visiting family over Christmas, it'd be great to show them a "new" me! :)

I'm thinking about starting the SBD - a little daunted by phase 1, but I think I can stick to it, it's only 2 weeks until phase 2, right? Also, I found Kayln's kitchen the other day, as someone posted on another MFP thread - it's awesome!

Sure! I've got about 70lb to lose. I'm sure we can do this with the support of our MFP buddies! :)

I'm going to try it out... I've been working hard and not losing, so I'm going to try something a little different... Feel free to add me, I'd love to learn more low/no carb healthy options! :)

Thanks for the info Melroxsox! :D

Wow, I had no idea that this thread was out there! I am so glad I'm not the only one any more! I've been on birth control for 10+ years, and have been officially diagnosed with PCOS for 2 years (though it's in my family and has been suspected much longer than that...). I recently came off birth control, as my hubby and I…

Some of my quick favourites are... Breakfast: Poached egg (you can do this in the microwave) on a slice of wholewheat toast, a Luna bar with a piece of fruit. Lunch: Tuna mayo sandwich (substitute the mayo for low fat sour cream and add a little dried ranch to enhance the flavour), the Tasty Bites range has a couple good…

Here in Alaska! Stones/ pounds, it's all confusing to me now! :)

Sure! :)

I really like Gardenburger and Morningstar burgers. Have them with an oroweat thin bun or bagel and a slice of low fat cheese and it's only about 250 kcal and pretty filling:)

I just got a timex (don't remember the model) from Amazon. It works really well, was reasonably priced and has a chest strap. We'll see how it wears in over the coming weeks...

I got the dvd this weekend, and just did level one this morning. I am about the same weight as you... I LOVED IT! Hoping for good results:)

I usually eat nuts or something similar. They're protein rich, good for you, and calorie dense, so a good way to get those cals up at the end of the day if needs be.

You've come to the right place - if you stick to MFP and writing down all that you are eating and drinking then that is a great start. Also, there is a great MFP community so if you ever need advice or have a question, just look in the forum archives or ask! Good luck:)

I generally try and eat a light carb (half a granola bar, rice cake etc) before I go for energy, but not so much that it gives me a stitch. Then when I am done I try and have some protein to help me rebuild a little after the workout - maybe a string cheese or some ham or something with the other half of the granola bar.…

I love eating well! I really like the Huevos Rancheros Verdes, and they also had a carrot cake recipe with crushed pineapple for a lot of the sweetness that was delicious and moist when I made it. Thanks for this tip though, I'll try it out.

Good luck! It's an awesome and helpful site:)

What to Eat - Marion Nestle. It's a little heavy and dotted with politics (of food and food production/sales) but very interesting reading...

I think I will focus on drinking more water and also doing a better job of balancing my exercise calories and eating healthy foods to make up for the kcal that I expend:)

Go! But try and see if there are any healthy choices that you can make - I know if I overate for everyone's birthday or other even I'd always be overeating, but if you make healthier choices there's no reason you should deprive yourself the enjoyment of a get together. So see if they have a more healthy option (I'm…

It's definitely easier to eat better when you're writing it down and are accountable to yourself and your friends as well as the scale!
-
Sounds good! I'm also aiming for a little more than that but still would be pleased to lose 52!
-
I'm at 1200 too, and you're welcome t look at my diary. It's definitely hard at first, but one you get used to it you'll be surprised at how much 1300 calories is if you are making good choices, and how much room you have in there for some "treats" too!:)

I just had a look at mine, wow! Thanks for the tip:)

I've been having that same problem - I've lost about the same since joining mfp, but still wearing the same jeans! I can definitely feel them getting looser though, and I tried on some smaller jeans last night, and could fit them on at least. Still a bit tight to wear, but I'll get there. Glad to hear I'm not the only one…

Sounds good. Wednesday is weigh in day for me so even more motivation to work out super hard in the morning! And I could sure use a push to drink more...:)

I just got back from a co-workers birthday lunch. I skipped all the cakes, breads, dips and the like and just went for green salad and a fresh roll. whoop!
