Hey all, I'm from western Canada and I have 50+ lbs to lose. I like to post updates about the journey and pics to keep it light and motivating. I'm a stay home mom, I was a full time prep cook before that. I make kombucha, green smoothies, juice. Cooking from scratch. I'm looking for fitness, motivation and encouragement…

Have you ever tried Kombucha? We have started making at home because we drink so much of it that it was financially a responsible way to enjoy our new favorite drink. It is a naturally fermented tea drink that naturally also becomes effervescent. If you check out your local health food store you can get the starter, but…

me too, I am trying to lose 50 lbs... to start. 50 lbs would get me to place where I was happier with my body (in retrospect) Honestly, I`ve looked a pictures of me 50 lbs ago and I thought I was overweight then! And now its my first long term goal weight. Its funny how hard we can be on ourselves sometimes, isn`t it? I've…

Is the group all full up now? I'd like to join, lose 12 pounds to put me in the 100's again!

I dislike weighing myself to the other end of the extreme where I've gone months without knowing. Currently I am trying once aweek or every few days even. My scale is in its box under the sink. I pull it out, quickly check and then put it back. Hope this helps. Want to be friends?

requesting permission to access friendship? :P

Wow what a great discussion. I have to show this to my sister when she's next here.

Oh my gosh I am adding you as a friend for the from scratch motivation AND to be MFP's!

hey! I am back after taking a few months off from moving and christmas. All the while working on maintaining the first 15 lbs. For me it has been about baby steps. I'll send you a friend request! We can do this!
-
Add me, I'm having a tough time staying motivated facing a move soon and am newer on here as well. You can do it again, and again if you have to, all about reaching your goals right?

Do some dishes up, freeze them and bring them with the ingredients to make it again and a simple instruction, like throw in a pot, simmer for 20 minutes, eat. The best thing to do is to show her how to cook the way you are trying to get her to cook. Adding something like noodles or whole grain toast for the not diabetic…

Are you eating nutrient dense foods? Whole grains, lots of veggies, slow releasing carbs? If you are gonna go over, do it with something healthy and log it first so you aren't disappointed in yourself. Try tomato's which are very filling. Make gradual changes to choosing healthier options if its not what you like. Keep at…

I changed my diet because I ran into an old friend and she looked so much lighter after losing a bunch of weight. I wanted that feeling of pride and accomplishment that seemed to just pour out of her. I want to lose weight, and stop gaining weight. I want to buy clothes off the front of the rack and the top of the stack. I…

I started 'em again. So far I'm hanging off the weight bench (in my basement ;P) OP, how is it going?
-
I can't do em anymore but when I learned how it was off a futon (low) bed. I slowly crept further out until I was eventually doing 'em girly, and then finally full up on the toes. This time around I will try the stairs.

Coconut and avocado are the only saturated fats from non animal sources, and they actually blah, blah, blah contributing to lower bad cholesterol in the body.

I am!! Newer to MFP, but logging, using the app, and calorie counting.
-
Gonna give this a try!

I did a 24 hour fast, I did some exercise and logged it, I helped babysit so a friend could go out for an evening, I changed my daily activities to reflect a more accurate depiction of my daily burned calories.

I've taken it and do still if I'm not sure of my will. It works but I found I got headaches if I took the full dose. My sister swears by it. I started fasting and found my own mental powers were working and I didn't realize I'd been forgetting to take the pill. Si, I just use it casually.

I ate my food, feel sooo full. Don't understand how I made my calorie goal today and feel guilty that I may not have measured correctly. Bringing out the measuring cups again starting tomorrow just in case. Doing ****ty things to people sucks! But so does letting it define you or ruin you. Both actions are just as bad and…

Based on this, I don't know if its truth but if it is than what you have is the tough to lose, slightly extra weight that often happens. Keep at it, but change things up. Find a routine/regime that makes you feel good when you look in the mirror. Love yourself by not letting a meaningless comment send you down a spiral.

Take what you want to eat.... cut it in half... replace half with yummy fresh or steamed veggies. No restrictions, actually just adding another element. This is loose advise, it depends what you want to enjoy eating and how it affects your protein requirements... etc. Another thing I have tried is adding chickpeas or beans…

I fill up on a glass of water every time I want a snack and I measure with my hands - one handful is roughly half a cup. check what your handful is. Its tough if you don't have a good eye for estimating the food. I have entered my food in the notes on my cell, or a piece of paper until I get home. The only things I eat…
