No way would I leave a 10 year old child home alone for an hour. Sure, I'd pop to the shop across the road, but most 10 year olds just aren't emotionally mature enough to handle possible emergencies when a parent is gone for that length of time. Like others have said, I would take your child for a walk with you, unless she…

Enjoy the wine! Remember though, try to drink water between glasses to avoid dehydration. Hangovers can make you crave all sorts of nasty food the day after!

It's totally up to you if you feel the need to cut out zero calorie drinks from your diet, but I don't see the problem with them at all. I drink Diet Coke and Coke Zero regularly because I enjoy the taste and they don't impact my calorie count, so why would I give them up??

I'm a sedentary woman of 40 (5ft 3"). My BMR is 1412 and my TDEE is 1694. I've been eating 1200 calories since September of last year and have lost 45 lbs, but it has slowed down a lot lately. In fact, I hit a plateau for a month, which was so discouraging. I'm still a long way off my goal weight (about 40 lbs to go). I…

I went low carb for a week to break a month long plateau I hit after losing weight steadily for 7 months and lost 2lbs, so it did the trick in that sense. I still stuck to my calorie limit of 1200, but reduced my carbs to no more than 40 grams a day. I'm actually not sure how many carbs would be considered the right amount…

Sure. If I was that way inclined. Has a Michelle Rodriguez vibe about her :)

I really wanted to fit into 'normal sized' clothes in 'normal sized' stores. I've achieved that, which is great! Outsize clothes are so expensive, I find.

It's fine. I'm losing on average 2lbs a week, drinking 2 cans of Coke zero a day. I also take calcium, iron and omega 3 supplements every day too, though. Nothing wrong with diet drinks at all.

Well I think it sounds super healthy and if you are feeling satisfied after it, you enjoy what you're eating and you're getting enough calories for the day I don't see the problem. Seeing as you are somewhat less strict at the weekend, it sounds like a pretty balanced diet to me.

I don't put on weight, but it does stall completely the week of my period. I weigh once a week, every week and have come to expect it now. I'm losing about a pound and a half every week on average, but the week after my period I'm always down about three - it's great!

I'll join this group too! admittedly, I don't drink all that often, maybe once every couple of months, but at least 4 to 5 glasses of prosecco a time, without making any extra room for it in my daily calorie allowance. Every time, I weigh at least a half pound less the next day and never put on an ounce of extra weight on…

A movie Dan Aykroyd directed called 'Nothing But Trouble'. Great cast, awful, awful movie. Second worst would be a film called 'I Heart Huckabees'. What a steaming pile of pretentious tosh. Honorable mentions for Basic Instinct 2 and Boogeyman.

Well, I don't do any sort of planned exercise, just usual day to day activities and I have a desk job, so I just went by MFP's sedentary criteria on that one. The next option down was exercise three times a week, which I don't do. I actually input 1.5 lb a week weight loss and that's what I got. I'm not finding sticking to…

Quick question: If it is unhealthy to eat below your BMR, then why does MFP regularly set people's calories to below this level? For instance, my BMR is 1604 and mt TDEE is 1924, but MFP has set my daily calories as 1220.

There simply is no substitute for butter. As others have said, just ration it a bit. It's a pure food product and not a mish mash of fake ingredients. Saying that, I do use substitutes when a large amount is needed for something, though. For example, when I'm making mashed potatoes, I replace butter for extra light…

I heard that diet soda's main ingredient is pure evil. It actually turns you bad from the inside. Is this true?

There are loads of different types of bread and sausages on the market. 2 slices of bread usually average out at about 200 calories (mfp and the product details on packaging confirm this). The bread I eat is an Irish slimming brand which are only 60 calories a slice. Yes, a panini would be more like 250 calories…

Perhaps I'm being way too obvious here, but why not just switch to diet versions of your favourite fizzy drinks? I drink diet sodas quite a lot and I'm still losing steadily. You can get diet versions of energy drinks, afaik, however, I don't drink those, so take a look and see what's available.

Chinese food. Honestly I could order chinese food every night and never get tired of all that tasty MSG goodness. I still treat myself to a small portion of szechuan chicken with vegetables and boiled rice every Friday and just leave out the other way more fattening stuff I used to order with it. I also make at least 2…

One slip-up is not going to ruin your whole diet! Perhaps plan a 20 minute walk or workout today to make up for the extra calories to help get you back on track. Don't beat yourself up about a few noodles :) Going forward, allow yourself the foods you enjoy, just eat less of them and factor them into your limit for the…
