I am TOPS member in Illinois. I joined last May about 2 weeks after I started MFP. I have lost approximately 25lbs with the help and support of my TOPS group. I am hoping to lose another 5 lbs or so and then comes the hard part of keeping them off!! I am currently a KOPS and I am contemplating changing my goal weight to…

It sounds like you are already on the right track. Exercising and cutting back on your calories are the most effective tools for weight loss. I have been on MFP since May 2011 and I still log in to record my food which has helped me to stay accountable. It's taken too long to lose the weight and I don't want it to come…

Thanks all for the info.

I understand your frustration. I have a house full of teenagers and a husband who can eat anything they want so I can certainly relate about having those temptations all around you. I have made a choice to do little things like buy baked potato chips along with the other options my family likes, switched to bagel thins and…

I have tried the skinny cow sandwiches which are 140 calories and are delicious. The mint is devine! I have also had Blue Bunny Fudge Bars and they are about 90 calories. I was a big ice cream eater as well and these seem to satisfy that craving. I have also tried the low sugar options but I can't stomach those. Blue Bunny…

Excellent job! You look beautiful!

Congrats on your great success thus far!! Keep up the amazing job you are doing for yourself!!!

I enjoyed this as well. Thanks for sharing. I won't feel guilty now about ingesting my artficial sweetners and processed foods.

Excellent post!! You should be a writer!! I too had a love affair with the scale and my husband decided enough is enough and he threw it out about 10 years ago. Needless to say, I was actually happier but the weight kept climbing. I have now rejoined my old weight loss support group and am only weighing there once a week.…

That doesn't sound like very good advice. From everything that I have read on here and other resources, you really should be drinking 64 oz of water per day. If you are retaining water you need to check your sodium intake or other things that may cause water retention. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with the others that you should eat before hand that way maybe you won't be as tempted to dig into all those goodies. Maybe do a wine spritzer so you can still have the glass of wine but not be so high in calories. My philiosphy is that I can't stop living and enjoying the things that I want to do because I want to…

FANTASTIC!! Keep up the great work. Good for you for taking those pictures!! :flowerforyou:

I am interested in this group. I am 43 years old and a mother of 3 (15, 13 and 12). I loath exercise but am gradually trying to get back at it. I am sooo easily tempted every night to not do it at all. I also am not a morning person and the idea of waking up at 5am to exercise is just revolting. I confess that I am also a…

I am still a carboholic and I can't imagine life without them so I have switched from regular potato chips to baked and other items like Popcorn Indiana's Buffalo Chips or Sensible Portions Straws with Sea Salt. Many of the Sensible Portion products have a large serving with not as many calories or fat. I think with the…

Thanks for all the great info! DANG! I just stocked up on my supply of Skinny Cows. I really thought that was so much better of a choice than regular ice cream and I really thought I was making healthier choices by choosing Fiber One yogurt, etc... I guess I was fooled by the label and let myself think I was eating…

Thanks for the info. I don't care for eggs and I can handle only so many salads, carrot/celery sticks. I love to still have my sweet/salty snacks and seem to only be able to find that in the processed foods.
-
Thanks for the support. I can understand that I may be not eating as many fruits and veggies as I should, but sometimes I crave something salty/sweet and the processed foods( I've swtiched to what I thought were better options than what I was eating before) seemed to satisfy that craving. I usually eat a veggie with dinner…

Welcome to MFP. I am really just getting started on this myself and the best tool so far has been the food diary. Before, I really didn't think I was eating that unhealthy or even overeating but once I started keeping track I was shocked at the reality of it. I actually went back two full days before my official start date…

You look great!! I honestly don't see where in the world another 16lbs would come from! I think if you want to work more on your legs and tummy that you should concentrate on toning type exercises but not weight loss.

You look Fantabulous!! Great Job!!

I have lost weight with going slightly over on some days. If you exercise, you can eat those calories back and still lose!! It's a Win Win!! Good Luck on your journey!

My main source of exercise since I started my journey about 1 month ago is walking. I have walked in our neighborhood as well as walking to Leslie Sansone or Denise Austin. I have sprinkled in a couple of really old Richard Simmon's vhs tapes for some toning workout and low impact aerobics. I have heard tons of people talk…

I think you can use the recipe calculator and it should give you the calorie count from there.

Do you peel the zucchini/eggplant or cook with skin on?

This is my first time "splurging" in about a month. I have about 30lbs I want to lose so I can't afford to go over all the time.
