Old Richard's Simmons' tape- how to count it? (Newbie)
I just did the Tone n Sweat video from back in the early 90's. I loved it when I was trying to lose weight after my third child. I can't find this in the data base nor can I find something similar to list as a replacement. It was about 30 minutes and I used a toning cord and worked legs, arms, shoulders, back, chest and…

To Change Goal Weight or Not Change Goal Weight
Hello, First a brief history: I am a two time member of our local TOPS IL290 chapter. The first time I joined TOPS, it was probably about 6 months or so after I had had my third child. I first began my own weight loss program doing the Richard's Simmons program and lost about 25lbs. I really wanted to lose that last 10lbs…

Body Image
Even though I have lost 24 lbs or so since May 2011, I continue to feel and see the same bigger person in the mirror. My pants are looser and I should use that as a guide but I can't seem to shake the "I'm fat" syndrome. Anyone else have this issue?

sportline HRM watch- accuracy
I received the Sportline HRM watch as a gift and I tried it for the first time tonight. I think the thing is junk as it said that after 45 minutes of moderately paced walked I had burned 550 calories.... I really don't think that is anywhere near accurate. Does anyone have suggestions on getting a more accurate reading on…

need ideas for non-processed foods
Someone told me that I may be consuming too many processed foods which could be why my weight loss has stalled a little. I swtitched from many of the junk food items I would normally eat to getting stuff like Kashi Granola Bars, Fiber One yogurt, Sensible Portion type chips/snacks, Skinny Cows, etc... I can't just cut out…

bummed!
I have been on MFP for about a month. Over the first several weeks I have lost about 6lbs. This evening, I weighed in at my TOPS meeting (the only time I weigh) and I stayed the same. Not a tenth of a pound or anything!! I feel like I am staying on track and being extremely truthful with my food diary (to the point of…

Better to just have the real thing?
I have seen many posts about turkey bacon, turkey sausage, turkey burgers, boca burgers etc.. Is it really any better for you than just having the real thing? I have heard that many of the substitutes have loads of sodium to help with the flavor...not sure if this is really true or not. Lately I have chosen low sodium…

How many calories over for splurge day?
I was just wondering what people consider a splurge day as far as over your calorie count. I am already about 150 calories over but I am wanting something sweet like an ice cream bar but it would bring it close to 250 over. I didn't get in exercise today so I don't have any of those extra calories either.

How to count deep fried crappie filets
For dinner this evening we will be having cornmeal coated crappie filets deep fried in peanut oil. Anyone have suggestions for calorie count? I can't seem to find anything that quite matches this. Thanks!

going below calorie allowance
I have been doing MFP for about 2 weeks. On most days I am under the 1270 calorie allowance and I feel like I am eating healthy and I actually am not hungry (although some days a little heavy on the carbs). Should I still eat even when I not hungry to make sure my body doesn't go into starvation mode and then it stops my…

30 day shred question
I have read about loads of people doing this 30 day shred dvd. I am interested in it but not to do it for 30 days straight. I just want to add another workout video to my collection for different things to do. Will it be effective just doing it a couple times a week/month? Also, I have had some knee issues and wondered if…

Protein bars and sugar content-YIKES!
My goodness!! I purchased a protein bar (Clif Builder's chocolate mint- tasted delicious BTW) because I was looking for something as an alternative to some of the things I have been eating for breakfast and I was surprised after I ate the dumb thing how many grams of sugar it contained. It did have 20g of protein and 270…

Sugar free really good for you?
I am wondering if sugar free is really any better for you than just having the real deal. I have read some things about sugar free and that sugar alcohols are just as bad as pure sugar. I have bought some sugar free fudge bars and some Werther's candies and to be honest, I am not a big fan of the taste. There seems to be…

Using extra calories from exercise?
I am worried that I won't lose weight like I should if I eat the extra calories added in for the exercise. Anyone have issues with this and how did you deal with it? My mother-in-law says I should just stick to the basic calorie count and not use any from exercising. I am just getting started and have only recorded my…

Walk Away Pounds 2 mile with belt question
I am new to my fitness pal and just beginning a new weight loss journey. Today I completed the Walk Away the Pounds 2 mile walk that included a belt where you did arm workouts along with the walking. I am unsure how to post this in my exercise log. I have done a search on the message boards and it seems most are putting…
