Even though I have lost 24 lbs or so since May 2011, I continue to feel and see the same bigger person in the mirror. My pants are looser and I should use that as a guide but I can't seem to shake the "I'm fat" syndrome. Anyone else have this issue?

I know I have a bit of issues comparing myself to others and trying to figure out how big I am or how big I should be. A few months ago, I looked at a coworker and guessed that we are about the same size. She's the same height as me, but she's about 30lbs heavier than I am. It was kind of alarming how clueless I am about how big a person is, can be or should be.

When I was 105lbs, it felt about the same as being 165lbs. I don't see myself as fat or thin, even though I've been on both sides of the spectrum. If I really look for it, I can find fat, or muscle or bone, but I can't tell if I'm bigger or smaller than I was six months ago unless I get the scale and tape measure out.

If you feel fat, even though you're not, you might want to seek a counselor to help with that to make sure there isn't a bigger issue holding you back, or to make sure you don't get into any eating disorders.

However, if you are just losing weight but you can't tell yet, I think that happens to a lot of us. Just keep track of your measurements. I know a lot of MFP folks like to take before and after photos to compare since a photo is sometimes easier to read than the mirror can be.

Hey I just wanted to post to let you know that even though I have went down several sizes, sometimes I still feel that way. I sometimes do not know if I will ever overcome this!!!!
