I have a hand blender that I use when I don't feel like using the big blender. It's good for smoothies (if you add ice it takes a little longer to blend but it handles frozen fruit well). An added bonus is that you can make blended soups with it. I have this one:…

I choose whole grains over white breads/rice because of the health benefits, not weight loss (you can definitely still lose eating white bread!). That being said, I eat a lot of carbs (my goal is 55% of my daily calories) and have lost 30 pounds.

This! I also recommend Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn (the father of Engine 2 diet's author). If you only want to read one I would go for Engine 2 though, it's a faster read and I prefer the recipes in it.

In addition to Fat Free Vegan that someone mentioned, some other bloggers with Eat to Live recipes are: http://healthygirlskitchen.blogspot.com/ http://www.carrieonvegan.com/ I don't follow Eat to Live 100% but I do try to use a lot of the principles like lots of vegetables and beans and very little oil.

I eat around 200-240g daily on a low fat vegetarian diet. My goal is to have carbohydrates be about 55% of my total calories. I usually have 1 serving of whole grain bread and 1 serving of brown rice or other whole grain daily so most of my carbs come from fruit and vegetables.

You could try adding fruit spread to plain yogurt. I think Polaner Strawberry All Fruit spread tastes very similar to the strawberry mix-in that comes with Fage. It has 10g carbs and 6g sugar per tablespoon. If you wanted to take the carbs lower you could also try a sugar free jam.

I love Trader Joe's Candy Cane Green Tea. It's decaf so I have some almost every evening. They only carry it during the holidays but it stores well. I bet peppermint green tea would be just as good.

Romaine hearts, baby spinach, grape tomatoes, mushrooms, carrots, salad dressing (the spicy peanut vinaigrette is so good and has 35 cal and 2 grams of fat per tablespoon), dry whole wheat pasta, jarred sauces, yogurt, almond milk, tofu. One thing that I've found isn't cheaper is canned beans. Brands like Bushes go on sale…

One to two cups of coffee or tea should be fine to count as water intake (I don't think caffeine acts as a diuretic at low amounts, someone please correct me if this is wrong). You could also try herbal teas or flavored seltzer water (no sugar/sweetener, just carbonated water and natural flavor). I like plain water and…

I had a few misses when I first got the book, but everything I've made recently has been great. I think I was still adjusting to lower fat cooking to so my tastes and techniques needed time to adjust too. I probably use it the most out of all my cookbooks now. Google books has a lot of the recipes available online if you…

From my maternity nursing textbook: "During the first trimester of pregnancy, no added calories are needed. However, the caloric intake for adolescent and adult pregnant women should increase by 340 calories during the second trimester and 452 calories during the third trimester (Institute of Medicine, Food, and Nutrition…
