Thank you for posting this... Saved it for one additional resource on the topic.

Of of the best motivators in my opinion is simply being fed up with yourself. I know that's what did it for me. Best wishes on this new path. Friend request me if you wish!

I recently purchased a Concept2 Model E. Even with 3 additional "but pads", It was actually less expensive than my Sole treadmill (which I got on sale at the time). What an incredible workout! I personally had to ensure I spent the first handful of workouts at a slower pace to focus on proper technique and form. Now it…

Feel free to add me as well.

I missed the part she was 60. I'll edit my message accordingly.....

Great idea! I'm in for a 10K walk. Can do it on the weekend.

I love my treadmill. If it broke, I'd get a replacement same day. I hate getting outside to exercise and where I live, the weather is undesirable for many months of the year to do so. Results for me have been cardio vascular and assisting in the net calorie calculations. Between the speed and incline options, you can…

Great work all!! I also did the C25K on the treadmill. Was a great program. Just decided I'm better off walking than running. Easier on my body. Yesterday's work out was 629 calories burned 4.15 miles 70 minutes 1%-13% incline.

Nice to see people contributing! Here's my latest stats... 525 calories burned 3.5 miles 60 minutes Running total for October: 8673 calories burned 57.75 miles 1030 minutes

My moment came the Friday before Labor Day of this year when I stepped on a scale for the first time in about 8 months. I knew it wasn't going to be good. I knew how I felt in general and I knew how the clothes felt tight. I almost passed out at the read. Top this off with a newer found struggle with blood pressure issue.…

I gave it totally up. The 9 bottles of beer that I had in my fridge 8 weeks ago are still there. At first I didn't think I would want to. However, seeing the impact to calories made it a no-brainer. I was drinking 1-2 bottles each night and went to zero immediately. After this time, I no longer even desire it. Probably…

I have not. You may want to join and post this in the new Treadmill group to see if anyone there has. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/100081-treadmill-runners-joggers-walkers-movers-shakers

Hi Andy... I posted my "story" in the introduction thread.

Good deal... Yes, snacks were clearly my sticking point. Especially the ones that started after 8:00 pm. I've cut all of those out and have had success.

Not sure if you are still monitoring this but here goes my opinion. I'd go for a 6 quart regardless... A larger size will give you more options of what you can do with it. You can make a little more food and freeze some if needed. There's really not much diff in size so I'd opt for the larger simply based on having more…

I'm in my upper 40's and sit at a desk all day long for work. I've put on about 22 pounds over the last 8 years which I've begun to shed. If my body will let me shed 5 more, I will, though wife says I'll be too thin if I lose more than 22. I'll let nature take it's course and see what happens. I only exercise at home. I…

Yippie - more of us treadmill users! Here's the new treadmill group I think is being referenced. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/100081-treadmill-runners-joggers-walkers-movers-shakers

Finally, some others that use a treadmill as part of their routine! Mine has been a primary / critical tool since I have begun the process of becoming fit. I run and walk, but running has not been without some issues. I still use it 5-6 days per week and as long as I'm feeling OK, running always makes up part of it. Anyone…

Also in my 40's... Request sent...

Ok... Request sent.

40 was my tipping point too. 8 years later, I'm doing something about it. Glad you are keeping tabs on the valves... Obviously critical. Good luck in your journey! Feel free to add me as a "friend" if you do desire.

I hate gyms as well.. Simply will not go. There are many, many more users here more qualified than I to speak in details but will share a few of my thoughts and what worked for me. - Ask your doctor about ideas on safe things for you to get started on. -- Losing weight is all about calories in and calories out. "Moving"…

It's amazing how many people (other than a few) either don't read / can't read or are totally insensitive to what the OP stated. If I couldn't afford to fix the treadmill or purchase another or something equivalent, I'd go back to doing the Stability Ball, Sticky mat and a couple "Pilates on the Ball DVD's". All are low…

I've used Merrells in the past and have loved them.

Fantastic! Congratulations and yes - your story is an inspiration.

Thanks all for your input.

Thanks for the replies. Good to know..... I keep the deck at a 1% - 2% incline at all times and my speed is about 4.8 - 5.0 depending on the day. At this point, after following the Treadmill version of the C25K, I'm able to do the entire 5K. Again, I know it's not the same as outdoors with wind resistance and continual…

You may not have seen it but I responded to you in that thread that got deleted. I truly can't imagine the pain you are in and how much of a whirlwind your life must be with emotions. You are a larger person than me, for sure. All kudos to you for your strength and doing this for her!

Sure - it's Wegmans.
