There is a setting that adjusts your calories if you don’t reach your step goal as you calorie goal is also determined by the level of activity you inputted originally.

I know how you feel. You can do this. The easiest easy I found to reduce my calories is to substitute my carbs like pasta and rice for broccoli. Every time the Loki’s had pasta I would have the sauce over steamed broccoli.
