Good luck Natalie. Sorry for all the haters. I am kicking as much of the sugar and processed foods as I can for as long as I can (I started Monday) and alcohol too. I know the holiday season may derail me, but even more reason to just say no, because it's not just the holiday foods that are packed with sugar, but pretty…

Well, 250 was a bit much last month, so I'll shoot for 200 - may be some trainer rides in there with the expected December wind and rain.

Well, with traveling for Thanksgiving, I didn't get anywhere near my 250 goal, but this group is great to keep me motivated and getting out on the bike just to be able to post on this thread. Motivation is a strange thing. It also motivated me to get a trainer, so YAY! Nov. 30 - 12.7 miles Nov. 25- 7.3 miles Nov. 24 - 9.5…

Biking is a great exercise. My knees are iffy and I bike all the time. But the caveat is you need to make sure that you are seated properly on your bike so you're not stressing your knees. If you go to a spinning class the spinning instructor can set you up properly also

Hi, I started about a year ago, and lost almost 50 pounds, but gained 10 of that back over the summer :(. But I'm feeling motivated again and could use some friends (I think those that I had gave up on me) so please feel free to add me!

Whew, this is going to be harder than I expected meeting my goal - it's raining every other day and I don't have a trainer yet. (how do you keep track of miles on a trainer??) Got in 30 yesterday because I had off work because of Veterans Day. it was very tough for me, I came down with a stomach bug right before the right,…

Hi All - I'm in. Good to meet some cyclists here! So many runners and lifters, so few that love the bicycle. I can't run easily because of my bunions, but love to ride. I'll shoot for 250 this month! Does everyone here ride every day? Do you feel like you're loosing out on fitness or weight loss? For me, I can't get my…

Don - i think that's the point of a TDEE, you don't eat the calories back, they are included in that number. Right now my MFP goal is 1200, but I never eat that low, I eat about 75 percent of my calories back for about 1500 a day
-
I agree, I can't handle that few calories if I plan to workout - and I enjoy working out - it helps keep me from eating too much...

I have at least 40 pounds to lose (have lost 40) and my BMR is 1530

Any other reports?

Thanks all. It's kind of weird, my dr. said not to worry about losing weight till after the hysterectomy. I thought that was misguided advice. Certainly if i'm out of shape, it's going to be harder to recover
-
Thanks Choconuts - how long were you on your back and inactive after surgery?
-
oh man. yep. Trying to limit to 100 cal slices, but am afraid that will increase over the next week. Yesterday in my spinning class, at the end, I could have SWORN the entire room smelled like king cake -- everyone is sweating it off...

Yeah, I'm close to my TOM and notice I lose right before I gain :(

Awesome. Thanks for posting this. I have a 5th grade daughter too. Will share with her tonight.

Thanks Jacksonpt, the exercise is in addition to major diet changes, but my overall diet and weightloss is centered around getting fitter and healthier. Spinning and bodycombat burn about the same accd to my heart rate monitor - but combat works a lot more muscles.

I was trying out a weight guru scale

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

Sodakat, thanks, lots of regular capris, but not much activewear. Though I added activewear to that search and found something on Lands End

Search the internet for the guidance. I think it's based on height

Call Wild Lotus yoga in New Orleans

I always work through it if it's minor. Though I don't do arms and chest two days in a row if they are really achy.

A weight loss tool not to burn fat, but for energy when I'm tired and craving food as a way to boost energy levels

That is freaking awesome!

Well, I don't have a drinking problem, but exercise helps me avoid it completely!
