  • My 14 year old son plays bass - I just bought him an anniversary edition Fender from e-bay which he LOVES. He's taking a free bass workshop tomorrow night at a local music shop. What kind of music do you play?
  • So, I'm feeling like a real wuss - I was told today that I need my gall bladder removed as it is filled with stones. I have never been sedated or undergone general anesthesia. I'm freaking out just a bit (ok, a lot) about being put under. Anyone have surgery stories to share?
  • 20.07% - half of what it needs to be!!! But at least it's something. Great job everyone!!
  • My oldest son suffers from migraines - to the point he vommits just when sitting up. When I was in the chiropractic office for an adjustment one day I was telling my chiropractor that I was so tired because I had been in the ER the night before with my son who had been on DAY 3 of a super-intense migraine . He looked at me…
  • thinly sliced honey smoked turkey with Hellman's new honey mustard. I can have 6 slices of turkey with 4 Tbsp honey mustard for 70 calories! Hits the spot EVERYTIME!!
  • I'm officially over the 50 lb mark!!! I was stuck in a 48 lb rut for the entire month of August and now I've lost 51!!! I'm half-way to my goal. WOOOO-HOOOOO! I needed this to boost my spirits as work and school is kicking my bahookie this semester and I haven't had the time to work out as much as I did before this…
  • I would suggest seeing your doctor. A sudden gain in weight COULD point to a medical condition. Better to be safe than sorry, anyways. A couple of simple blood tests could rule out a lot. Sounds like you're doing everything you should be doing and more!! Best wishes~
  • I haven't lost anything since 8/6. I know it has to do with my not having even 5 mins to exercise the last few weeks. I have too much more to lose to hit a plateau now!! Just feeling discouraged, I guess.
  • spagetti squash is a favorite in our house. Depending on the topping I choose to use - depends on how long you cook it in the microwave. Boiling takes wayyyyyy too long - microwaving is the best (about the only reason I own a microwave is to make this!!)
  • She opened for Sheryl Crowe a couple of months ago and I hate to admit it - but my husband and I both enjoyed her more than Sheryl!!! Her voice and style is amazing.
  • I love it on celery with dried cranberries on top - mmmm!
  • And here when I saw the name of the thread I was all ready to post my favorite dessert as FLAN. Obviously, I wayyyyy missed the boat on this one!!! You ladies have some fine taste there!!
  • Exactly - age is but a number. There were teams coming out of the woodwork for that man because they know he's still got it. Anyone know the last time Jets went to the playoffs? I'm thinking '09 looks good for them!
  • YUMMMM - we love crab cakes. Thanks!
  • You're absolutely right and often times we're so concerned on what we've lost that we don't celebrate the fact we haven't gained! Thanks for helping me thru one of my "plateau" weeks......
  • Yep - it takes me a bit longer to scour the menu - but oh well - the consequences are just too great for me. I'm not taking any steps back after ALLLL the hard work it's taken me to get where I am.
  • Great job! Doesn't it feel good to be the one in control?
  • No, not the band :-) So, yesterday, I took my neice and my 2 boys to zoo and we were in the "Family Farm" section of the zoo where you can buy farm fresh ice cream, etc. and I didn't order any for myself because I knew my youngest son woudln't eat all of his and so I'd just finish it (unlike in the past when I'd order some…
  • We rarely go out to eat - perhaps 3 times a month if that. Not only is it so much more expensive to eat out, but we can't totally control what we're putting in our bodies. we have no idea how something was really cooked 'back in the kitchen' or just exactly how fresh it is. Normally when we do eat out it's with other…
  • Oh and I forgot to mention - because of my school/work schedule and my husband's schedule we didn't get a chance to watch the movie together. I watched it first and was raving about it - so he decided to watch it on his day off - he called me afterward and he had gotten choked up!! It's one of those movies that makes you…
  • I think Jets ratings are going to go sky-high though. Not because they're such an awesome team but because people (even non-Packer fans) just want to see the guy play!
  • LOVE Gerard Butler - he's in a couple new movies this summer. My favorite parts of PS I love You were when Hilliary and he were in the scenes together - very good movie.
  • I don't know how many of you are Packers fans - but I'm a huge one and always will be. But I have to say - I'll also be a Jets Fan this year as Favre was just traded to NY!! What an unbelievable couple of weeks. A lot has been said, admittedly, on both sides, but I still stand by the 3 time MVP. He's one of the greats.
  • Okay - I totally missed this whole topic somehow and was going back thru old threads when I stumbled on it - you guys have me CRACKIN' up at work - I can't do that or they'll take my internet privileges away and what, oh what will I do without MFP? Seriously - REALLY needed that laugh this afternoon. You guys are great!…
  • The Herbalife brand have really good protein shakes. They're the best tasting shakes I've found to drink by themselves - but really good mixed with other things. I know this sounds weird - but I like the vanilla mixed with diet A&W - it tastes JUST like a root beer float. I suggest using a blender or the Magic Bullet as…
  • my favorite way to eat cottage cheese is with fresh sliced peaches - really yummy combo. When I was a teen I worked at a restaurant and one of the "sides" you could choose was cottage cheese with diced onions and french dressing on top. I've heard that it's just a Midwest thing but it was good. I'm sure you could do the…
  • TOTALLY hear ya this week. I had my finals in microbiology this week and haven't had time to work out at all! So not only is it my TOM, but I am in major stress-mode AND am beating myself up for not excerising. Now class is over and I can concentrate on JUST work and family life:happy: And by the way - I LOVE nutella. It's…
  • I was given this quote from a coworker and keep it on my refrigerator. It's entitled: FORGIVE and FORGET: "Don't beat yourself up if something tempts you beyond control. Try taking an honest look at the triggers leading you off track and adoping an "I'm in control" attitude. Have an action plan handy, just in case you're…
  • I have one 2 blocks from my house and LOVE it. It's so convenient and I get the full spectrum in a compact environment.

  • I know Prunes are considered by many to be an outdated food but they are actually very good. My friend introduced me to them about a year ago. Sunsweet makes a cherry essence pitted prune which is REALLY good. I make it a habit to eat a serving 1x a day and it helps alot.
