  • I'm in! My goal is 70 lbs by end of September - with an additional 30 lbs by end of December. it's on!!
  • Yes, but I wanted something accessible to more people than just MFP members.
  • No worries - I totally understand what you're saying. I am purely a social drinker and not even a frequent one at that. However, if I am "in the mood" for something to sip with dinner, I'd rather make a "heart-healthy" choice rather than have a drink just to have a drink. Thanks for the info, everyone! It's nice to know…
  • That just came up on my ipod last night as I was working out - I had it on shuffle mode - it REALLY helped me pick up the pace (and I'm not talking salsa, here :-)
  • I used to weigh myself everyday but it drove me insane to see the fluctuations. I now weight myself weekly - every Monday morning - and I'm much more at peace! Also - buy a good scale - it's worth it!
  • Starvation is so dangerous and unhealthy. I have had a very unhealthy relationship with food for most of my lfie and have gone into starvation mode multiple times which always made me feel sick - not to mention, you can't maintain that (or you'd die) and when you do eat, your body holds onto every morsel for dear life. I'm…
  • Glad I searched for this topic before posting my own - I had the exact same question. It's actually quite upsetting. I am being very careful and avoiding all the usual cravings and still being diligent about doing my 60 mins of cardio a day and then to step on the scale and see a higher number is discouraging. Let's hope…
  • Thanks everyone for the feedback - great advice!! I'm going to buy some 10 lb weights tonight and just be persistent!
  • I'm in!!! Will take measurements tonight!
  • I've tried WW in the past with very limited success. I love MFP and the freedom that comes from tracking calories. I've had great success using just MFP.
  • Then there's the people who won't say anything - but they're looking you up and down like they can't believe their eyes. Jealousy and ignorance - not a good combination. Why can't we all just get along?
  • I grilled veggies tonight but was just in one of those "carb" moods - needing something creamy - so I added a wedge of the garlic & herb to my hot grilled veggies - it was heavenly. Exactly what I needed. Only 35 calories - but very satisfying and I know it saved me from making a not-so-healthy-choice! MMMMMMMMMM
  • I just had grilled veggies and brown rice for lunch! I have a large wok-like pan with small holes so you can put in any veggie and it won't fall through - but still gets the great grilled taste. I usually do mushrooms, zucchini, summer squash, red peppers, onions and sometimes I add fennel - if cooked right it carmelizes…
  • skinnytaste.com is a great site! And you can find many old "favorites" out there - redone to be a lot more healthy. I've always been happy with the recipes I've found there! There's even a margarita recipe that is super yummy with a lot less calories!!
  • I just started this last night and curious about anyone's success? Seems like you've been doing it for 3 weeks now - how's it going? By the way - Level 1 kicked my butt. It's embarrassing, I know!
  • WOW - started tonight and level 1 kicked my bahookie!!! Love that it's only 20 mins - there's no excuses that I don't have enough time now.
  • I just received mine in the mail and am going to start tonight!!
  • Thanks for addressing the online program - I actually had questions about which would be more beneficial to me. I'd love to hear some comparisons of people who have done both programs! Will I get as much support with the online program? Do I still get the tools (like the point counter) to take with me when I don't have…
  • Thank you to everyone for their advice! I've been in nursing school for the past 4 years and I have one semester left. (I put on wayyyy more than the "nursing school 20") I am using this summer to re-focus on myself since it's been a VERY long time since I've done so. I'm thinking about doing WW thru the summer - get the…
  • I can't explain it either. At my smallest, I was a size 10 and weighed 165 lbs. Most people don't believe me when I say that. And I have a friend who is a size 6 but just try to pick that girl up - she's SOLID! I think it's just how some people carry the weight and how "dense" their weight is.
  • I started today - I didn't want to use another post-poned excuse by "waiting" until Jan 1. Day 1 went very well . . . Hope yours did, too!
  • My son just went to a bass workshop yesterday put on by the one and only VICTOR WOOTSEN. He was amazing. Even signed my sons guitar. If you don't know who he is - Google or You Tube him. Truly one of a kind.

  • great ideas - thank you!! I love red pepper hummus!!
  • What kind of Mini-meals do you eat?
  • How do you track body fat?
  • We eat spagetti squash frequently in our house. I make it a couple different ways - first, I split it in half, take out all the seeds (easier to do before cooking). Place in glass dish flat side down in a little bit of water - microwave for 5-10 minutes and the strands just fall out of the squash! I like to grill chicken…
  • I never even heard about that functionality. Thanks!!
  • Thanks to everyone's comments and encouragement. I am now a week post-op and feel FANTASTIC! Had to face my fear of anesthesia head on and am so relieved it was such a problem-free experience. Only had to take 2 of my pain pills and resumed most regular activity by day 4. Have a great weekend!!
