blogging - trying something new
So I had a revolutionary idea tonight while I was on the bike trail. Start a blog. Have some accountability. It feels good to pour out my feelings. If you have encouraging words, weight loss tips, etc to share - please feel free to do so! http://bountifulmujer.blogspot.com

to carb or not to carb.....that is the question!
I am re-vamping lifestyle choices and in doing online research, I have come across many conflicting articles about carbs. Some say carbs are vital to weight loss success and some say that you should highly-limit the amount of carbs you eat. What have you found works for you?

10 minute trainer
Saw an ad on TV for the 10 minute trainer - anyone tried this before? Is it as good as it seems?? I work full-time, have 2 kids and am in nursing school - I literally don't have time to go to a gym. Would love to hear from people who have tried it! Thanks!

bosu ball for office chair?
As much as I'd love to trade out my office chair for a balance ball, I know my boss wouldn't allow it. However, I think I could get away with using a bosu ball with my current office chair? Just a far-fetched idea. Anyone ever try that before? Any success stories or fails? :-) Thanks!

Lambrusco, anyone?
I would love to say that I'm one of those people who ENJOY a glass of red wine. . . but I'm not. (and believe me, I've tried to convince myself) However, a couple of weeks ago I did have a small glass of Lambrusco at a friend's party. It was DELICIOUS! I am aware of the health benefits from drinking red wine but don't know…

arm flab - more reps? or heavier weights?
One of my biggest problem areas is my arms - tricep area. I've been researching specific exercises for the arm area and I know that using weights is important, however, I don't know if the # of reps is more important or if I should be focusing on using heavier weights? I'd love some advice. Thanks!!

cardio vs weights
I'm looking for some advice - I've been going to the gym and doing cardio but have recently read about how important weights are, also. Is it better to do all cardio one day, all weights one day, or mix it up and do 30 mins cardio, 30 mins weights on the same day? I'd love some advice! Thanks!

Ganoderma, anyone?
What do y'all know about ganoderma? I'm reading conflicting info online. I actually realllly love the ganoderma coffee - it has a really rich taste but is it a hoax or legit? Gracias!

"Eat to Live" - anyone tried it?
I've recently read the first 20 pages of the book "Eat to Live" and it's quite captivating. Wondering if anyone has tried following the health plan in this book and if so - what did you think? or what have you heard from others?

the great diet soda debate
After years of drinking diet coke, I decided to stop cold turkey after I read some recent reviews about how drinking diet soda can actually make you heavier. Well, I suffered through 3 days of caffeine-withdrawal headaches but now feel great and have actually lost 4 lbs since last week!! Have others experienced the same…

Weight Watchers, anyone?
I've heard wonderful things about Weight Watchers and am tempted to try it. Anyone out there use it - either past or present? Would love to hear some feedback! Thanks!

elliptical trainers for home
Do any of you own an elliptical for home-use? And if so - do you know anything about the Horizon Elite Series or the Body Trec line? Any input would be helpful! I've only ever used the commercial-grade ellipticals in the gym but due to my schedule I can't get there ever - would like to purchase one for home-use! Thanks!!

ideas for 5 small meals a day
Last year I lost weight by eating 5 small meals a day - but I stopped doing it because it got boring. I was eating the same foods all the time. I want to restart this but am looking for alternative ideas. I'd LOVE to hear from those that take this approach to weight loss as well. Thank you!!

For those of you out there that use Wii Fit - what do you think? Do you get a decent workout with it? Does it keep your interest? I would love to hear what you think. Thanks!

food advice
When it comes down to it, I know HOW to eat and WHAT to eat - but I'm looking for a quick and dirty guide for this super busy mom for those days my mind is maxed. . . so I don't settle for something I shouldn't! Is there anything like that on this site? If anyone knows where to look for such a link and could post it for…

Upcoming Surgery
So, I'm feeling like a real wuss - I was told today that I need my gall bladder removed as it is filled with stones. I have never been sedated or undergone general anesthesia. I'm freaking out just a bit (ok, a lot) about being put under. Anyone have surgery stories to share?

The scale was my friend this morning
I'm officially over the 50 lb mark!!! I was stuck in a 48 lb rut for the entire month of August and now I've lost 51!!! I'm half-way to my goal. WOOOO-HOOOOO! I needed this to boost my spirits as work and school is kicking my bahookie this semester and I haven't had the time to work out as much as I did before this…

Major plateau
I haven't lost anything since 8/6. I know it has to do with my not having even 5 mins to exercise the last few weeks. I have too much more to lose to hit a plateau now!! Just feeling discouraged, I guess.

Favre Forever
I don't know how many of you are Packers fans - but I'm a huge one and always will be. But I have to say - I'll also be a Jets Fan this year as Favre was just traded to NY!! What an unbelievable couple of weeks. A lot has been said, admittedly, on both sides, but I still stand by the 3 time MVP. He's one of the greats.

ah-ha moment
No, not the band :-) So, yesterday, I took my neice and my 2 boys to zoo and we were in the "Family Farm" section of the zoo where you can buy farm fresh ice cream, etc. and I didn't order any for myself because I knew my youngest son woudln't eat all of his and so I'd just finish it (unlike in the past when I'd order some…

exercises you can do at work?
I try to work out on the elliptical and circuit training 3-4 x/week but as a busy mom going to school and working full-time that doesn't always happen. Anyone know any good arm or ab exercises you can do sitting at a desk? I already take the stairs at work, but unfortunately, my job doesn't allow me a whole lot of…
